Sorry its me again with another question. I've spent quite a bit of time here today trying to learn things and I happened upon discussions about lovely shiny things. The GG, screwdriver and cube etc. Can someone please explain about them. Not so much how they work, but what sort of expense there would be after purchasing one. They are really expensive so I figured the actual upside (apart from taste) would be much cheaper running costs. Is this right? I know you'd have to buy batteries now and then, and juice, obviously, but what about atties and wicks? I'm happy to save up for one. After all I'm saving a fortune (finally) with vaping. But only if they are really worth the extra money. Thanks everyone

The bonus of a purely mechanical mod is that there really isn't much that can go wrong with them. and yes, batteries are cheaper than replacing egos etc! Get one with a 510 fitting and all your atties etc that you already have will be fine

Sorry now I'm even more confused (you'll discover this is normal for me ). But I use egoC at the moment and I'm soon to get some ce5's and all they have is a battery, clearo and atty/wick. So are the lovely shiny things where you put your juice. Like a carto?

The lovely shiny things are the battery holders, you use your existing clearos with them. never stop asking questions comfrey, nobody minds answering. I can't help you with the ins and outs as I just have egos too

Yep, you put your juice in a clearo, or cartomiser or atomiser just the same with a mechanical mod as you would with your ego battery

Thanks I've been on you tube and they are pretty big. I have to say I can't quite grasp why they are so popular, especially at the price. But I'm learning a lot of new things. I go through batteries like they are going out of fashion and I'm a really heavy vaper, so possibly they would save me money in the long run. All supposing I could lift the things that is LOL

The main plus point of a big battery mod is longer vaping time. The bigger the battery, the bigger the mod has to be. But, the bigger the battery, the less often you need to charge it. Also when the battery won't hold a charge anymore (and that could take over a year) you just replace the battery and not the whole PV. So it will save a substantial amount of money over buying ego batteries.

I think it means one with no electronics (so not variable voltage etc) so there's not really anything to go wrong.

Dizzi's right, a mechanical mod has no electronics. A mod, basically refers to a battery holder

Now THAT'S interesting! So if you are a heavy vaper, this could pay for itself in no time. D you mind me asking how long a charge will last. I'm recharging my 650 every 4 or 5 hours. My leccy bill is going to be extortionate because there's two of us at it
