If I bought the argento or the joye mod, would a standard 2.4ohm atty work ok? I've just ordered the vivi mini and the Ce5 both with standard atties. Thanks everyone

I believe standard will work with anything, it's just that they all give different vapes. As I say I have no mods so this is just what I believe, someone with ore knowledge will be along shortly.

Comfrey, Malibu is right, a standard attie/carto/clearo will all work fine on either the Argento or Joye mod

2.4 ohm will work but if you want to try a warmer vape try something with a lower resistance.
There are usually options around 1.8 ohms that will increase vape production. Have owned both the Ego and the Argento and both solid performers.

I'd probably go lower once my 2.4's die. I've been spending time looking at the pretty shiny things. I'm too much of a tart and far to easily seduced by bling!

Hi Comfrey, just to give you some ideas, this is the Joye mod that takes an 18650 battery (it comes in different colours): This is a GP PAPS stainless steel mod that comes in a variety of sizes: From the left you have the 18650 version with the bottom switch and the 510 connector on it, next are the tubes you can use for 18500 (18490) or 18350 batteries and on the right is the 14500 version. For comparison, the 14500 is about the same size as an eGo, but a bit fatter. They operate by pushing up the button on the bottom (which you can lock off with the ring). There are loads of alternatives of course, but many operate in this way and these are the most commonly used battery sizes.

The Joye mod looks like a good starter. How about the Lavatube V4?

Oh thank you for that Dave, they are all very lovely aren't they I've spent all day looking into all this and now I'm just as confused as I was but for different reasons. Now I'm spoilt for choice (not taking into account my complete lack of funds), so I have no idea which to aim for. Talisman I was looking at the lavatube in particular because although I don't have the money at the moment, its certainly one of the cheaper options and looks like a pretty decent device. I like the look of the mini ones best The reason I need something relatively small and light is twofold. One I have weak wrists and hands which makes my dexterity pretty poor. And the other is that I actually have stupidly small hands. I'm only 4'10 and so have feet and hands to match. I would look truly ludicrous with some great silver monster in my mits # #

I am SOoooo confused. ???
How can a battery have no electronics?
Are we just talking an "all-in-one" unit (eGo) vs some sort of tube/device that holds batteries...and because it only holds batteries you have to attach a *widget* on the top where it then meets the liquid delivery system?
Like I said, it's a tough concept for me.
I'd be keen to try anything that works out good value long term.

ego batteries have electronic switch and electronics that regulate the power it allows out of the battery
mechanical mods simply have a physical switch that completes the connection between battery and atomiser

Lol Raid Would you believe my ex husband was 6'5 I looked like a bit dropped off. Shame he didn't have the personality to go with his height LOL Well I have ordered the mini Argento from Britvapes and the very lovely Chris has thrown in a charger as well. I wasn't supposed to buy anything this month, but really who could revisit that But now I need batteries and I think I've worked that out because reading through the threads its important to get one that's protected. However I popped over to ivapour for a hot spring and he sells two. One for the BB and one for the SB. No idea which I should get. Could anyone help please?

So, all "mods" will require a controller section/part unless the power can go directly to the atomiser safely/effectively?
