It depends on the size and quality of your batteries. but if a 650 mAh is lasting 5 hours then a decent quality 2000mAh battery should last you over 15 hours

I use the 1000 or 1100 (wish I could remember) egos while at home and 350's, 400's or 650's when I go out. So the ones at home last virtually all day on 1 charge anyway. It's just that they are longer.

I have some of the 1100 batteries and I found they didn't hold their charge that well. However I think they might have been rip offs. Going back to the argento though, I can't find out if they come with batteries or charger. I know Britvapes were selling the whole lot for the same price according to google but I don't know if that was a limited offer or not. If it does come with battery and charger, I can feel PayPal calling me

Comfrey, please don't feel you need to apologise for asking questions. Any questions you or anyone else asks will also help the hundreds of guests we have on the forum every day I used to be a very heavy smoker - averaged 50 ciggies a day So for me, buying an "expensive" mod very soon paid for itself. I mainly use my early version mechanical GGTS - I've dropped it down a flight of concrete stairs & it didn't break. I've also dropped it in the bath - didn't do the battery it contained much good, but no harm to the GGTS itself I use 18650 2,000 mAh + batteries with it that can be bought for just over £3.00 or more for safer ones - they last for at least a couple of years.

I bet if you bought one for yourself he would be stealing it Damn right he would. But persuading him these things are any good in the first place is a pain. We don't exactly have a lot of money since I had to give up work, so its hard to explain to "the bread winner" that the outlay is worth it. Now I sound like a 1950's housewife. "Woman know your place!"

pity you couldn't 'borrow' a mod or 'win one in a competition' #icon_rofl#

That Joye mod with the 2 heads Karma linked is prolly the best of the big cheapies . Many battery mods arent truly mechanical ...they all got a bit of wiring but its much the same thing to use lol . If you re budgeting you can pick these things up dirt cheap direct from China or secondhand on the AAEC or UKvapers classifieds . A tenner will get you a usable tube . A wanted ad might bring results for a startup kit.

There are a couple of routes to go down. Both are successful but really is up to the people that use them.
I am the same as the majority here in that I use big battery PV's in preference to Ego's etc. There are a whole bunch of people that do not and would rather carry say 2 or 3 Ego battery's around with them. I just confuse things as I usually have 2 or 3 mods with me when out...just paranoid about being vapeless.
Neither is right...neither is wrong just personal preference.
My brother is in the UK and has 4 Ego batterys he rotates through and that keeps him happy which is what it is all about. My perspective is I really don't want to think about battery life I just want to vape. I change out the battery's on the mods I am using on a daily basis then done. Don't have to think or worry about it again for 24 hours.
I still have a couple of Ego batterys but don't think I even know where they.....oh yes I do I sent them to my brother.
I would second the Joye 18650 mod. I had a pair that were my first big battery mods and since then you can tweak the voltage as well but I would wait on that one just buy low resistance carto's or atomizers and 3.7 will work a treat.

Is a mechanical mod basically in its most basic terms, a battery with 2 wires connected to it which connect to an atomizer, with a button which when pressed completes the circuit?
What about regulated or variable voltage? Can either or both at the same time be done with a mechanical mod?

Chiller, there are no wires at all in a mechanical mod.
Depending on the size of the mechanical mod, it can be changed to Variable Voltage via a Kick.
