Hello dear Nell, I'm late cos I keep strange and variable hours, but here's a belated... I'm looking forward to you getting a "Tornegoriva" and really getting going with your vaping. I'm a caramel juice fan too - James of Paradise Vapes does The Best and his service is great. scylla

Hey nell... Here's another newbie welcoming you ! I just wanted to say that I also tried of one those disposable 10€ e-cigs! It wasn't completely satisfactory off course, but I felt the TK and it produced some vapour! after noticing that I just searched all over the web to find a nice device.... I took some time and am now waiting on the Riva plus a few accessories and juices! I just think if that crappy disposable had a little effect, then a proper vap must do wonders, and after all so many people can't be wrong! Have you noticed the seemingly huge community you can find in the internet? good luck mate, I'll say something as soon as I get mine !

Well folks, since we last spoke I have had a bad chest infection after using the nicolites disposable Woke up next morning and had a terrible sore throat and a bad chest. Making me apprehensive now in progressing onto the Riva in case that does the same?

Hi Nell,in all probability it was a coincidence.I dont know of any ingredient in the contents which could give you an infection. Im not being rude but if you analise what you are saying you will see the irony. You are willing to put poison in your lungs and real smoke and probably cough, but you are worried about putting steam and glycerin in them which is used in everyday products which we digest in everday life. Sorry to hear that Nell Really can't see that you got the chest infection from your e-cig though.

Hi Netty I see what you are saying but I can't say I consciously inhale/ingest Propylene Glycol, and was maybe wondering if that caused it, as I am an Asthmatic and maybe that contributed to the chest infection, something I have not had in years. ???

Also I meant to add, A friend of mine is interested in these E ciggys, but she is on medication that rejects alcohol from her system and with PG being an alcohol I would say she wouldn't be a suitable candidate?

My vaping friend is Asthmatic and has absolutely no problems with their chest as a result of vaping Nell . . . their last Peak Flow test was the best for years.
If your friend is worried about a PG based eliquid, they can choose a VG ( Vegetable Glycerine ) based one.

I'd also have to add, that anyone and everyone is a suitable candidate for vaping, despite any health issues they may have . . . it's more a question of finding a good device that works for you and a juice/juices that work for you that's what we on this forum try to help and advise would be vapers with. As well as, endeavouring to overcome any objections that may or may not exist . . . the proof is all around you on this forum Nell, none of us have fallen in the void, we're all considerably healthier as vapers . . . you need to take a leap of faith now and have a go at joining.

Have to agree with Perpy A few failed attempts to quit ago I went on a forum dedicated to giving up. The "what can I expect" side effects people had experinced with stopping smoking was hoooge and all manner of horrid. I think the temptation to make the connection between vaping or NRT casuing these side effects is great when in actual fact just stopping smoking can create havoc with our insides.

Nell is right though that PG is classed as an alcohol & therefore due to her friends medication it would be best if she went for a VG based e-liquid. I would also in this instance suggest that she talks to her GP about whether her friend can tolerate PG.
As for worries about asthmatics using PG - it is used as a carrier in some medications - including inhalers used by asthmatics.

Fair enough Chris, I'll edit that bit of my post . . . going by my asthmatic friend - they've vaped both PG & VG juices for the last 4 months I think now, without any ill effects whatsoever.
Infact they've also been able to cut down quite considerably on their inhaler use as well, thanks to not smoking.
I guess, as with all things, different people have differing degrees of tolerance to things.

Perpy, sorry hun, my last post was confusing to say the least. I completely agree with you, I can't see PG being a problem to an asthmatic, so please don't edit your post . I was more concerned about Nell's friend due to "on medication that rejects alcohol from her system". It should be me that edits my last post to make more sense - & have now done so
