Welcome doctorjellybean Just keep reading as much as you can and it will become easier. The jargon will sink in. I didn't sleep for weeks when i first come across AAE-C reading all the info . I didn't know vaping existed. I was amazed i hadn't come across anyone vaping. I needed to know more. I split vaping into 3 parts:- a:- BATTERY'S They supply the power to Vape. b:- THE DELIVERY SYSTEM They hold the wire that the battery heats up to produce vapor. c:- THE JUICE The juice comes in contact with the wire, heats up and you get vapor. Juice Provides Flavor and throat hit. Kits are fab for starting, get one ASP. They are cheaper than buying all you need individually. The contents of the kit is also compatible with each other, all you need to add is juice. I used one vendor to start with who was recommended. There is rubbish out there but a good Vendered will replace items and stock good quality products. Once you have the basics you can start up grading or buying bits you prefer. It is a bit hit and miss with what suits you. I have realized that it is very individual, what we think is great and what we think isn't. Before you buy a kit ask members if it good value for money, a few sites can be very expensive for beginners. The members here will have only your best interest at heart and their aim is to advise you in the right direction and get you off the nasties. Use their knowledge they have and ask questions if you are not sure. I hope i am not belittling you with breaking it down but a post similar to this helped me no end when i started. www.vapeescape.co.uk/search.asp?types=Deluxe+Vaping+Kits+%3E+Riva+1100+KitThis is the kit i brought at first and i couldn't have been happier with it. 2 Great battery's and a usb charger. They are still going strong and they have had a hammering 2 types of delivery system. Some cartomisers and a Clearomisers. They are disposable and will need to be replaced at some point. Buy some juice and in 24 hours you are vaping. I hope this helps and good luck.

Hi Doc, and welcome to a whole new world! Some great advice (as always) from other members, and I hope it helps you to choose. I wish I'd found this forum before I bought my first kit, I could have saved myself a fortune and ended up with something better, but not to worry because vaping has definitely been a revelation however I started. It'll be 4 weeks on Saturday since I took my very first vape and I've not touched a stinky horrible roll-up since. Once you get your sense of smell & taste back I reckon you'll be more likely to want to get away from the tobacco flavours - they're 'orrible! I was an Amber Leaf roller, and now I vape with mostly dessert flavours - vanilla custard, choccy nutty fantastic (tastes like Snickers), coconut ice and others. I've also got a few fruit flavours. When you're ready to give it a go find a vendor that does a pick n mix so you can buy a few in smaller quantities, and don't forget to use the discount codes. Good luck!

Doc, the Riva from Vape Escape has longer lasting batteries & gives you the chance to try cartomisers as well as a vision ego clearomiser.

ROFL Doc, that's most folks reaction to the "condom method" but the video explains all Don't forget to use Discount code RAFFLE if buying from Vape escape. It will not only give you 10% off but enter you into their Christmas raffle. If you do go for the Riva kit, it might be a good idea to buy some e-liquid from the same place to make sure you get it at the same time as your kit.

Doc mate. I was the same as you a couple of months ago. And I'm older than you as we'll so you've no excuses. I also would rather have my nose chopped off than vape custard or candy floss. Tobacco flavours are not horrible. There's no way I could have give up my forty plus years of sixty rollups vaping vimto etc. Get yourself a good 36mg tobacco juice and one of the kits that folk have recommended. Sit down and sort it out- that's what I did. Trust me you will work it out.

Hi Doc,welcome.i was a rolly smoker for 35 years,i decided to give e cigs a go.i really didnt WANT to give up but i thought ,what the hell,i could always go back if it didnt work out.I got a simple starter kit.like you i was overwhelmed by the jargon etc,but a few questions answered i was on a roll.I stayed away from baccy flavours on purpose(good job as i cant stand them LOL)i just wanted to get my nicotine hit with a nice pleasant flavour. Finally i have found my fav devices and tanks syatem and juices.I vape Vanilla Custard till it comes out of my pores. Also i love a juice called Swedish Fish(check out the reviews in the link below)and a "custom" juice i cobbled together which i call Frozen Fish(50/50 Mix of swedish Fish and Cherry menthol)There are literally THOUSANDS of juices out there and several WILL have your name on them. Its daunting at first but by NOT rushing in and getting questions answered you will find the setup for you.I havent looked back and havent had a rolly for over 4 months, not even came close to straying either. If you want the nicotine hit without the 4000 other toxic and carcinogenic gases, the E cigs and Vaping is the way to go.Hope this helps. alba-vapours.co.uk/swedish-fish
