The poll title says it all I think ! How long had you been smoking before you started vaping? It's a curiosity ! I'll be the example ... 8 years that I plan to leave behind

36 years for me Aldo . . . I didn't start smoking until I left school and my best mate at work smoked, so naturally I had to follow suit. Although both my parents smoke, my Dad a pipe and my Mum . . . one ciggy a day only now for her, so I don't really call that smoking.

46 years, Aldo. Both of my parents smoked and most of my relatives. It just seemed like a normal thing to do at that time.

I didn't start smoking till my mid twenties. At the time I was going through a very painful divorce (got married at 18) & was also suffering physical pain - neuralgia in my teeth. A friend at the time that smoked offered me their menthol cigs & they seemed to help me so much - if only ......

Fruits - go for the 15- 20 years cos it's one of the ones looking a tad lonely at the moment

c'mon folks, this wasn't meant for sadness... Instead of getting sad, cheer up coz it's now all past! It's all about evolution My first experiences were about 12, but it was just to try o0 I started at 15 fo'real... both my parents smoked, although my mother was like a fag a day! When my father noticed I could have been smoking he left off to set an example but when he found out it left him very sad :s after nearly 3 years without smoking he got back at it 'cause of the stress caused by the stock market but he only smokes 4-5 cigs a day nowadays. Except on football days xD I smoke since my 15 although I stoped for nearly a year due to MTbiking, but then didn't resist with all the stress from exams etc... I guess both me and my father wouldn't imagine life without the act of smoking. I tried e-cigs cause I was sure I couldn't refuse to smoke for the rest of my life. but tar is something to leave behind definitily

Fruits - go for the 15- 20 years cos it's one of the ones looking a tad lonely at the moment Done I started at 14, you've gotta look cool at school Also started smoking something else at the same time stopped that 2 years before I started vaping. 20 years sounded good when I found e-cigs, but 2 years later it sounds kind of sad to me.

What! Nowhere to vote for 50+years !!!!
Someone here (me) smoked seriously for 50 years and dabbled for a couple of years before that.
It doesn't bear thinking about. All that money wasted on Gold Leaf - do you remember them?

25 years, always on and off. Packed them in loads of times, the longest being 13 months. Until E-cigs. Over 14 months now. And for the first time ever, I can confidently say I'll never smoke again.
