Lol! Quick question, I have mine steeping in the airing cupboard, going to give it few more days before adding more flavour to any. But just watching something that says they should get some sunlight, should I put them on windowsill instead of airing cupboard? Also had lid off for 3 days but now back on, should I keep it off?
Thank you XXX

Some say leave it in sunlight (if you're lucky enough to have some ), some say airing cupboard/warm place, some say leave lid off, some say leave on, some say periodically squeeze the open bottle to refresh the air in it, some say shake at intervals, some say microwave. ..... from what I gather there's no clear defineative answer, it depends on who you ask. Each person probably uses a different combination of methods and has their favourite way of steeping. The goal is to allow the flavours to properly mix/infuse and probably to oxidize a bit, like a good red bottle of wine. Sorry if this doesn't really help!

For the lurkers - a little nic on your skin won't hurt if you wash it off reasonably soon. Not good for your skin if you leave it there, and you might rub your eyes..

Oops I messed up tonight. Wanted to make 3x 50ml Spearmint to take away with me to ensure I don't run out, with a tiny bit of menthol for a bit of bite. Took out my 50ml bottles, put the nic in each, the pg in each the vg which I've now mixed with vodka in each. Looked at my calculator to see how much flavouring I needed and it said 10ml spearmint, which when I think about it is 20% of 50ml. Well, I have 10 different flavours, including spearmint, but I only have 10mls of each!!! (And I'd used a bit of spearmint in previous 10ml mix!) I poured all my spearmint into one bottle, added a bit more menthol than planned, and that bottle was done. I now had 2 50ml bottles with no spearmint to put in, and not really wanting to completely empty another bottle of flavouring. As the base was mixed to take 25% flavour I decanted 7.5 ml into 2 10ml bottles (7.5ml each not between) and added 2.5ml of flavours that I haven't yet tried, coconut and blackberry. Then I labelled what was left in that bottle as premade 75% mix and stored it. will it keep for a while if so how long? into my other 50ml bottle I added 3ml of 5 different flavours, apple, blackberry, banana, caramel and something else I can't remember. I know 15ml is more than 25% but I assumed that'd just make the nic content lower and I don't mind that. I'm not expecting it to be wonderful, but if I don't experiment I won't learn! Anyhow that's my mixing tale for tonight I'm now going to look at ordering some more flavours. I'll need to get more pg vg and nic soon so will scour froggys post as I know I've seen links in there.
Hope nobody minds me keeping this 'diary' I don't want to bore anyone!!!

Hi Sarah, My your doing well with the DIY, rule of thumb 1ml of flavour to every 10ml mixes can keep for 2 years or more if memory serves me right. dont know what your nicotine is assuming its 50mg, then add 12ml nic to every 50ml so flavour 5ml your not boring keeping a diary that way if anyone can help then we can see how things are. Sorry sarah cant help you on foggys post.

Is 54mg nic, and I've read you can go up to 25% flavour (2.5ml for every 10) unfortunately my taste buds are crap and therefore the stronger the better for me! Thank you for your advice, much appreciated!

Tried my latest batch lately, the messed up one tastes like soap, but under that has nice flavour so am letting it steep. The spearmint / menthol is lush, but not quite as spearminty as I'd like - still its lovely and vapeable so I'm enjoying that. The choconana cream from the session before is lush! Would anyone be interested in the recipe? (bearing in mind its the first ever one I made and probably a bit rough compared to more experienced mixers!!!

Got home from my holidays today and currently in process of testing all my previous juices. Probably not good idea to do it in bed :-[ but was pretty keen to try them all! TOP TIP FOR STEEPING: do them a week before you're due a fortnight away, test em just before you go if you must but leave at home while away, saves temptation to have them early!!! Anyhow an update on all I've mixed will try to keep it short!! coconut smells really strong like suntan lotion but taste is weak. I've added 3 drops vape wizard and will try again in a week blackberry although this has good th it has weird taste not blackberry at all. Think this is one to add to a mix not a standalone. Experimenting on it now so added 2 drops vape wizard 2 drops dulche and 1 drop cooling agent will try in week spearmint and menthol this was lovely when I tasted it before I went away so I took it with me. Really enjoyed it as an alternative to my all day everyday vape. Sadly I can't find it now hoping it'll turn up while unpacking! Was however a bit strong even for me so next time will reduce the spearmint. random fruit and caramel this smells like 5 alive (tropical fruit juice I used to love, but doesn't taste like it. It does taste fruity but the caramel is a bit overpowering. Is vapeable but I want to repeat it leaving the caramel out. choconana cream this smells like overripe bananas! However it tastes delicious. Think those foam banana sweets you can buy half dipped in chocolate. Cream you can't taste but I think adds to the overall flavour. Think this would be even better with some cooling agent (like a banana split) so have added 2 drop and will try again in a week. spearmint smells like Wrigley's chewing gum. Last time I did taste test before going away I added two drops cooling agent and it gives a lovely cool throat hit. This is totally my kind of juice and ready to vape hooray!! apple menthol this is exactly as I hoped it'd be. Smells and tastes like proper applejuice not murdered with sweeteners. THe menthol gives a nice tang and a good th. Another one ready to vape. Very happy. I've started a notebook where I have a juice to a page. I write down the recipe at top and under that my thoughts when I taste them along with dates and anything I've added. At bottom of page I write notes for next time I make the juice.it's a very handy reference. I'll finish with a question: will vape wizard, cooling agent or dulche increase throat hit and if not could I add a couple of drops of vodka to my overall mix (already have roughly 10% in the vg. My random fruits and caramel is particularly in need of that added hit. Hope I've not bored you all to tears!! I don't feel comfortable sharing any recipes yet as I'm so new to it and I'm not sure they're good enough for others to make but that said if any of them take your fancy feel free to ask for a recipe and I'll happily share
