I'm shocked! The platinum coating is starting to peel off my new tornado battery.
It's started at at the base of the battery & it's quite disturbing really. Anyone else had the same or similar problem?
Think I'll stick with Black in future.
I also don't think the platinum batteries hold the charge as good as black batteries either.

I have sent TW an email as I wish to discuss this issue. I'll let people know what the outcomes are.

I've had the coating peel off a black LR901 atomiser - but I was pushing 5v through it at the time.
Hissie, it will be very interesting to hear what TW say about your issue.

The only issue I've had with peeling, is after I've boiled atties & it's usually the red atties that have been affected.
However, I'm not best pleased about the battery issue as they ain't cheap for starters. Then there's the issue with failure to hold a decent charge.

Hmm that sounds a bit rubbish Hissie Are they still safe to use? I am a bit of a worrier with batteries I think but dont like the idea of acidy yuk pouring out of them. Hope TW sort it out for you. I seem to think the black items last longer than any coloured ones though. Not a very scientific evaluation but I still will only buy b.lack stuff now

The bestest of the best have to be Riva batts.
Overall they beat Tornado batts hands down.
I prefer the feel of the button and the casing of the Riva & I've found they hold the charge much longer than Tornado batteries.
I rekon I'll be sticking to Riva batts from now on.

I aslo think the Rivas are more punchier too. I cant defo tell Im getting a bigger hit with the Rivas. I like the tornado buttons, coating and silver colour more though. Yep why am I fussy :0)

yes Hissie, ive had this happen a few days ago to my platinum mega battery. It started peeling so i have finished the job and now have a better looking silver Tornado battery.Atleast its limited edition now :)i quite like it.I do agree that they are poor at holding a decent charge and expensive to buy new ones.Get yourself a cheap 14500 box mod Hissie, much better vape than Tornado and Riva, batterys last months and are only £3.99 for 2 when its time to replace them.I would never buy another Tornego battery again.

My platinum coating came off my tornado batteries just a few months after I bought them. I just scraped the whole lot off, and much prefer the stainless steel look. They also give out more power and last longer between charges since morphing into stainless steel. Haha, not.
I've got Riva's as well, and they last the same amount of time as my tornado's from fully charged - usually a full day shift at work. My tornado's are 14 months old, riva's are 6 months old.
Exactly the same for me. Hold the same charge, give out the same power.

The batts probably do look better without the platinum coating, but at the rrp price I'm not impressed. I also find the Riva batts still vape well with the cone on, wereas Tornado batts don't like cones. Ian I have a SD MKII, but to be honest it hardly sees the light of day. I keep it as an emergency. I'm also clueless when it comes to any mods to be honest, would need pointing in the right direction

Well Tony,Sean and Lisa have some very nice box mods for sale Hissie.Ive tried one of Seans and Tonys boxes and they are a fab vape. You could have a very reliable mod, batterys and charger for around the £20 mark. I dont like the SD batteries at all, cheap enough but very hit and miss from my experience anyway.

None of my black ones have camper. This is new to me. As I've said earlier, only issue I've had with coatong coming off is after I've boiled atties. I certainly don't expect it to come off a battery I've had less than a month.
