Hi there I haven't been around for a while as work has been hectic. Looking for some advice as I'm not really enjoying vaping any more although thankfully I don't have any desire to pick up a cigarette My problem is two fold 1. e-liquid seems to turn very tar like in the clearo after a short time and particularly when left overnight so it's a really rough draw and makes me retch sometimes 2. Have been getting quite a lot of upset stomachs - running to the loo (sorry if TMI!) I wonder if I should reduce the nic levels - my daily vape is gold & silver 18mg (70/30 PG/VG) or if I should try changing the PG/VG mix.

What kit and eliquids are you using SS?
Maybe some new gear would re-kindle your vaping enjoyment?
VG, can give some people upset tummies, so it might be worth trying all PG mixes to see if they are of any benefit to you?

1. e-liquid seems to turn very tar like in the clearo after a short time and particularly when left overnight so it's a really rough draw and makes me retch sometimes I have this. It's extra noticeable in certain clearomisers. My theory (not given it much thought) is that the water element of the liquid evaporates off quicker than anything else. PG evaporates at less than 200 degrees. VG is near 300 degrees. You could try diluting it down or something..... In the early days I vaped 100% VG Vanilla and 50/50 tobacco juice, all mixed up. I got bad taste, burned clearos, thick juice in 4-5 hours, you name it. Disaster....

I would be inclined to reduce your PG level and up the VG as a possible alergy to PG can cause upset stomachs, cramps etc., I mix my own liquids and never go below 50% VG. You may actually find it better to up your nicotine level so as not to be vaping as often but I would look at the PG level first. Dave

Wow ... you guys are quick perpetua ... I'm using a riva and a V3 clearomiser. I got a mini nova but found I was going through loads of juice. I think I might try a 100% PG and go to a lower nic of 11mg. Can you recommend a supplier who does 100% PG? djs ... can you explain what you mean by diluting it down - sorry I'm a slow learner Cheers

I went through a bad time not so long back. Once I changed to the VAMO and Vivi Novas I was back in love with vaping. I also found the juice I love so I am happy with just the one juice and my set up.
I do like another cig juice, but a bit like yourself, after a day in the tank it is dark and thick and no good to vape.

I was getting upset stomachs when I first started vaping untill I got some liquid from Paradise Vapes at 50/50 no problems since, my previous liquids were more PG based. Dave

cross post - sorry Dave. Ooooh, am confused now ... PG or VG ??? It depends so much upon an individual's system that's the thing SS . . . ideally I'd try and get as pure a version of each and try, to eliminate what could be using your tummy upsets. Did you enjoy the mini Nova, even though you were going through juice? I'd rather have a higher juice consumption and enjoy my vaping personally.

Also suffered at one time with upset tummy and slight wheezing, changed to mainly VG or 50/50 and it disappeared

Sounds like gear issues with the tar like liquid, there is always an amount of 'backwash' from fluid that makes it to the coil gets heated but not quite vaporized, then has time to travel back to the tank in a somewhat burnt and caramelized state. this turns the remainder of the tank brown and detracts from the flavour of the remaining liquid. Try a new clearo of a lower resistance, they run hotter and are usually better at vaporizing much quicker thereby reducing 'backwash'

Also, the "tar" could be from juices made by steeping actual ingredients. I've seen it happen with some Coffee and some Tobacco flavours. I avoid them if I can.

smokescreen suffered same probs with headaches even the dry throat! i switched to 100%vg and not had problem since, have found that the Vivi nova was a lot better ,but can say the C5 clearos are still good, think some of the problems is a heat issue with some juices do notice that my viginia will get darker after a while, silly question you do clean your clearo's out ie give em a wash and then dry burn now and again ?
