Netty, I'm trying to think of that comedienne that you look like only better - been googling madly, can't find her. She does sketches more than stand-up I think ??? Don't be offended, I did say "only better". Lovely pic! It should be copied to Mug Shots thread. AND you look very norty indeed!!! Got it! Helen Lederer: No, I think it's someone else now ??? scylla x

A cartomizer has a wire that heats up the juice. A cart or cartridge doesn't have a built in heating element, so you need a separate atomizer to heat the e-juice.

Sorry to cut in on your thread Furball I too have problems with my 510 attys. I have tried 2 new ones today with the gold band, and both a getting red hot, with a terrible burning taste. There is black powder around the screw thread ??? Can anyone tell me what is happening please? I have made sure they weren't too dry, by dripping a little juice onto them first.

Katfish, are they standard 510 atomizers, or low resistance (LR) ones and are you using them on a standard 510 battery ?? It sounds to me like too much power from the battery is getting to the atty and "cooking" it.

Thanks Jerry, I am using a 510 atty on a tornado battery, because the 510 batteries don't last 5 minutes!

I may be wrong Kat, but that sounds more like a battery problem than an attie problem. But out of interest, where did you buy the atties from. (OT, I think Netty looks amazing )

Ok Kat, they are compatible, so that shouldn't be the problem. It could be a problem with the attys themselves.

I'm afraid it is the box of Totally Wicked attys that are giving me the problems. Both are red hot with the burning taste and the black powder around the screw thread.

Try the atties on the 510 Titan battery? (That's the ciggie sized battery you were saying only lasts 5 minutes, which I agree.)
We need to eliminate the possibilities.

Hi Guys...
A diffferent atty advice please...
I was dripping a new juice I got (caramel) and the taste just would not go...
Even when I try menthol I can get the taste of caramel...
Which is the best way to remove all traces of old taste from a 510 atty..

Some flavours do seem to taint an atty for what seems forever I've found Sham . . . giving them a good blow through and leaving them to drain on some kitchen paper can help . . . but why would you want to get rid of the taste of caramel. * Makes note not to bring any Caramel juice on Saturday. *
