So, I wasn't looking forward to today.

Many miles across many counties to meet many people about many business deals. (enough....djs.......)

Anyhow, out the back of the hotel/restaurant, I went to join the smokers. They puffed on their Marlboro Golds, B&H and Mayfair, and I sat a little distance away looking like billy no-mates with a 1300 spinner and clearo.

So, the questions soon started, and the answers flowed.....

My favourite question of the day went something like this. (edited for brevity)
"is that an e-cig?"
"yes - but it's more of a vaping device"
"oh, that sounds weird, does it work?"
"yes, I haven't smoked for a long time"
" that's good, I tried one once but it wasn't very enjoyable"
"no, they take some getting used to, and some aren't very good either".....(insert general chat)
"doesn't it worry you, the amount of nicotine you are inhaling?"
" No, it works out less than smoking"
"how can that be, my mate said some liquid has like 20mg of nicotine in it"
"yes, that's true, but all this liquid lasts a day or more"
(now for the killer.....)
"well, it's not for me. I mean 1 ml is one serving isn't it? That's like a pack of fags in one smoke (he meant vape... >)

So, I gave him some cards (you know, the ones that come with orders in the vapemail)...and scribbled AAEC-UK on the back of one.

1 ml is one serving!

I no longer bother about telling folks about taste or MG levels or any of that sort of stuff.
If asked why I vape, I tell them that I make my juice for about £1 for 10ml and 10ml will last me 3 days.
If I was smoking cigarettes I would be spending £40 for 3 days.
So that is why I vape.
Most cigarette smokers do not know bo-diddly about e-cigs or their contents, but they do know about money. That is something they can understand and it is also the thing they will most likely remember later when the opportunity may arise for them to "have a bash" at an e-cig.

Yep, due to strange conversations like above, I'm no longer evangelical about vaping. I'll answer serious questions, but mostly the questions aren't serious, more of a mick take

I would add that you dont smell anymore... unless you do, in which case bath more often

In any order you like but freedom of choice,not a lot of that left nowadays.

I think forward thinking types, who try it and like it, or who want to quit tobacco and see this as an option will give it a go. Especially if you help them out.

With everyone else, there's not much point. Very rarely do I try to convince people of things nowadays, they'll mostly make their own minds up, dependant on the type of person they are anyway.

Most non smokers who ask about it seem pretty positive about PVs, but that's only non smokers.
I assume non smokers see harm reduction as better than nothing.
Most smokers I talk to either have tried the cig-alikes or aren't interested.
I've never met another smoker who likes my Riva/ Twist with Clearos or Nova sat on top, they think it looks like a crackpipe lol

I would challenge anyone who says an ecig looks like a crack pipe. The two are miles apart. For a start, a crack pipe is made of glass and is clear. Crack isn't funny imo.
