I have 3 moggies and a little dog. All of them except George my ginger Tom are of perfectly normal size and weight. George? He is the biggest fattest laziest feline i have ever come across!!! He is not at all aggressive. In fact, OH swears he is gay! He is so enormous we have to lift him up onto the cats food counter (have to put it up high or Honey the dog steals it) because he sits crying because he won't jump up!! He is not over fed. Yes, he does try to push the others out of the way to nick theirs but because he won't jump up onto the counter i feed the others first, then, he is lifted up. All he gets is a handful of dry complete biscuit and a sachet of wet food a day. Now, the issue is, my daughter picked me up in her car the other day and as we drove up the road we noticed George running in and out of neighbours gardens all the way up the hill. He was quite a long way from our house. My daughter and i now suspect he has been dining out!!! There is no way he could get this fat on what he has at home. I don't really know what to do about it. I can't prove he is getting fed by neighbours and even if he is there's nothing i can do about it really. I just don't want him to become ill. He is such a funny character and i love him to bits.

Can you not have a word with the neighbours and ask them not to feed him?

How about putting a friendly little flyer through the people's doors who you suspect might be feeding him Dolly . . . if you don't know them. Let them know how concerned you are over George's weight . . . mind, it's hard to resist a pair of soulful, pleading eyes. He doesn't have any other underlying reasons for this weight does he?

My cat is long haired and I'm sure once a year he comes home with a haircut ! around his neck and mane area. I felt annoyed at first as if it was a slight on how I look after him, he is groomed and has no knots.
I decided that whoever it is probably has his best interests at heart.
He aso brings home pies, sausages and fish but we have a fish and chip chop at the bottom of the road. Luckily for me he isn't overweight and isn't a greedy cat.
I think the collar idea is very good , just "PLEASE DO NOT FEED ME" on a disc.

Can you not have a word with the neighbours and ask them not to feed him? I do not know one single neighbour in our street apart from next door who grunt at me if they see me and wave. Never speak though Thanks for the suggestions. I like the flyer idea and the collar. I might try both!! I should write on the collar " I am a lazy fat git and my mum is worried about my weight. Because i would rather lie around on my mums bed instead of chasing mice please do not feed me"

No Perp there is nothing wrong with him. He is fit as a buck rat other than being a porker.

Out there somewhere is a post that says my cat just won't put on weight, I feed it 4 times a day and all the food is gone, his best mate is a cat from up the street and that seems to double in size every day ??? .

You certainly couldn't mix George up with any other cat. He has an extremely long haired woolly coat and a mane like a lion. His tail is so long and bushy it is similar to a fox tail. It even has a big white fluffy snowball effect right on the end of it

Perhaps he isn't fat Dolly? Could just be his thick coat

You could get one of them name collars and instead of putting his name on it put "DO NOT FEED ME, I HAVE A HOME"
