Good cheap batts for LT v1

Hello again, long time no post, hope you are all thriving still and enjoying your ecigs like I do.

Of course I only turn up when I want something...

I'm looking for good but cheap batts for Lavatube version 1, preferably with safe chemistry and s/c protection, even if it's not strictly necessary. I'm running a pair of spares at the moment, like these

but I'd like some with higher capacity, 2000mAh+ to last all day. The v1 Lavatube uses shorter than normal 18650s.

Suggestions most welcome. particularly if they're acceptable to my wallet-moths. Ta.

Torchy the battery boy is the cheapest I trust. I have an LT and got my SenyBor IMR 2250mAh batteries from him - but they are neither protected nor short, as I got them originally for a tin mod. The thread on the LT cap is long enough to take them and I just add an O ring to make it look neat. He'd no doubt do you something different if you prefer.

I have a real problem with buying batteries....for e-cigs.

In my house, we have endless batteries, for endless gadgets. Awesome rechargeables for things like cameras and toys/gadgets.

BUT, I wonder if I'm the only one that's totally confused about the e-cig battery thing.
Protected/non-protected. Top buttons vs flat top. 18650/18700.

and why is an efest cheaper than an AW?

I understand the "protection" theory (almost)....so why is that an unprotected battery can ever be better? Is it for use pumping out higher power.

If you have electronics in your mod, that should protect the battery from over discharging, so no need for the battery to be protected!

If you have a purely mechanical mod, best to use protected batteries

Thanks, that's one confusion sorted.... (because a mech mod will just keep drawing power until it's gone too low....)

The circuit added to the battery to provide the protection has limited current handling. In some electronic mods they cannot provide enough current for the mod to work. They also increase the length of the battery, you've got to put the electronics somewhere, so they may not fit in the mod.

So (for example) if you set a Vamo/E-Vic to a set power, it'll ask the battery for "more" than, say, 6 volts, and the battery says No?

Will 2 18650s be the same length as each other regardless of protection or not?

Protected batteries tend to be longer and higher mAh batteries tend to be longer! Most good vendors will list the actual size of the battery, worth taking note of!
