Its probanly my fault for downloading rubbish but it needs speeding up as its for her home work. I've tried a defrag, virus scan and malware thingy. All of these are iobit free softwate I was wandering Is there away to put it back to original " out the box " condition and I will not download anything again. Just google chrome I'm a complete computer numpty so needs to be idiot proof instructions

You could have picked up a lot of parasite programs google spybot and if you like what you see then install it and let it get rid of all the programs each sending info to web sites without your knowledge

what operating system is it? Windows has a tool called System Restore found under "accessories"->"system tools"
This (if configured) takes point in time snapshots before changes to the system such as application installations and patches. It should not effect your data. You can run this and select a point in time before all the nasty stuff you installed. Beware though I would recommend taking a backup just to be safe. If it has not been configured and has not taken any snapshots, it may not work.

It may have a built in reset, check the manual (it can be found on their website usually if you lost the original). I've found over the years the resets do help slightly but don't fix everything.
As well as the software you ran try running Glary Utilities once a week (very good registry cleaner/fixer) its a one click program once installed if you want it simple. To defrag use Auslogics Disk Defragmenter as I find it about the best free one to use again really easy to use. For anti-malware I use malwarebytes and yet again quite easy to use.
If you can get a reset done and run these programs you should definitely see an improvement.
These things have brought machines back from the land of slowness for many I have serviced for people.
Since it's a netbook it would be harder to do a proper malware/anti virus run unless it can boot from either an external DVD drive or flash drive (To do a proper scan it has to be done before the operating system has loaded).
Failing all that the only thing is re-install the operating system which is much more difficult and time consuming.

not sure don't think so ... if so, only temporarily. It does take a while but highly recommended. I would install, disconnect from internet and leave overnight. It will pull out all the suspect cookies and ask you to review them yada-yada.
