Hi Ive just ordered the Argento from Britvapes because at £14.99 plus 25% off and free postage its £11.25! Would be rude not too! Does anyone have any advice on what batteries to go for. It takes 18650s and I guess it needs protected ones. Would people recommend getting a hot spring for this too?

Cheers. So is it definitely a protected battery i need? For the Argento, yes, as the Argento has no protection system of it's own. Protected batteries are usually a wee bit bigger, this works fine though with the Argento

Well true to form, this site just keeps on costing me money, should be sponsored by visa! Anyway, to the point. I have just ordered the Argento after reading this thread (thanks mzal! ) to keep the spending fix at bay until my zmax turns up, and after reading the description on Britvapes, it says 'can run at 3.7v using a 18650 or 6v using two 16340's'. So what does that mean, am I better off buying 16340's for it, is bigger v's better??? Also, I have a feeling the 18650's I bought for the zmax are unprotected, so would they be no good for this??

I wouldn't buy 2 16340s as I personally wouldn't stack batteries your unprotected 18650s will work but you're in danger of running them too low the batteries linked to above should be fine though

Thanks for the quick reply Karma. Could you please explain your reasoning behind not stacking batterys as I am very new to this. Is it unsafe to do so?? Also, what difference would it make to the device if it ran 3.7v or 6v?? Much?

I believe there is a chance of it being dangerous stacking batteries. I can't give you a proper scientific explanation as I don't quite understand it myself. It's something I would choose not to do though.
Start a thread and ask about it, I'm sure you'll get some knowledgeable and interesting replies!

Not sure about the stacking but i believe the danger is using mismatched batteries ie one with one with more charge than the other or different mah ratings but i may be wrong. Also with standard and low resistance atties, clearos and cartos that i have used all seem to taste burnt at 4.8 v on my spinner so unless you used high resistance ones designed for high voltage i think you would get a nasty tasting burnt vape. I plan on using my Argento with a 18650 (3.7v) and using a 1.8 ohms vivi nova or clearo.
