Again thanks for the tips Stripped it down to understand it more and noticed the coil,as said earlier looked like a spiders web, tried power to see coil operation and the vamo gave the Lo warning .Decided to strip the coil and wick and do my own and the slightly long wick ends I had sat them on the bottom ledge. When I tried it it fired so re-assembled and filled up.I did start to think that it only operated like a posh vivi nova but it is a very clean taste and very much easier to re-wick and coil.I think this was a very good buy for the money and well made.Very airy but that is no big deal as solutions are possible

As this was just a tester do you have a group buy in mind? With an airflow control ring and that spring sorted this thing could be a winner. Am really enjoying the vape, it has to be said

Left mine alone for a few hours and just tackled it again. Had to redo the coil and finally managed to unscrew the top. Got it all working now so all good. I think I'm spoiled with my Ody, doesn't seem to matter what else I try I always prefer the Ody so I think I'm going to pass this on to someone else and get a couple of 'Choddy's' as spare

All setup and working, I went with Blakey's method as I had some 1mm wick. Seems to vape well, I am not sure how long it will be before I get annoyed by then small pins and the centre unscrewing when I remove the top. It would have been better to have a push fit top IMHO. I quite like an airy draw though.

Followed Blakeys tip about the o-ring inside the base to partially close the airhole. Works a treat.
I've also stopped the wicks going all the way to the bottom of the channels. They now stop just above the threads. This means I can leave the cover screwed down tight.
I've found it can prevent some flooding if you cover the airhole with your finger while you screw the lid on. One time I noticed most of the juice vanished after screwing the lid on. It had flooded into the chamber and down into the base. Covering the airhole seems to limit that.
Vaping really well now.

I watched this video in Russian with English captions. I think this is the guy who made the Kayfun but not sure.
Looks like Grieg was spot on and there is no need to unscrew the cone or run the wicks down the channels and the negative pressure created by sucking will wet the wicks ...Need to try that next.

Yep, he made the kayfun Mine is working stellar with the two 1mm wicks in the channels so I'll leave you to try the kayfun method and report back

Just drained the tank and not a single dry hit. This atty delivers as much flavour.and vapour as my Penny or Spheroid. I wouldn't mind betting that anyone doing a blind vaping with this, the Penny and the Spheroid, many would not be able to say which was which. This atty is what it is, so quality wise it will never be a Penny or a Spheroid........but then again a Zmax will never be a Provari As to the longevity, well who knows. I have been so close to pressing the buy button for a Kayfun Mini but I will hold off for now. Just my opinion of course

Yep, he made the kayfun Mine is working stellar with the two 1mm wicks in the channels so I'll leave you to try the kayfun method and report back Hmm..Just tried the Kayfun method and when I tightened down the top cap it forced so much juice up the channels that it flooded the chamber and over flowed into the drip well and started gurgling..You could see the fliud level dip as I was screwing it on and I started with a full tank & ended up with half a tank. Maybe needs more wick in the chamber as I only had 2 mm tails and 5 mm wick at the coil area and then again maybe not. The problem I think is because we can't get to the wick ends to line them up with the channels once the cone is screwed on as it is not 2 piece. So there is no way of telling where the wick ends are going to end up and it looks like in my case they ended up too far away from the channels. So I am back to my wicks in the channels and it works very well. No dry hits and full rich flavour and not a drop in the drip well..Just some re-condensed vapour after a full tank.. Regardless of what method is used, I think this is a fab atty and the flavour is intense...If only they would make it out of stainless..

Did you try covering the airhole with your finger while screwing the cap back on? I also screw the cap down very slowly. It didn't flood for me then. I agree, excellent atty for the price.
