Well, that's what I get for being out of the loop for a week or two. Thanks.

Well, that's what I get for being out of the loop for a week or two. Thanks. it's almost impossible to keep up with developments! Hard working modders are getting their great work copied by 2 bob outfits almost daily now. It will be a shame if the original items that are produced cease to exist because of it. What will the knock off merchants do then? If there are no original pieces to copy, I don't see these people being innovative and creating new designs.

You're dead right bennyboy, double edged argument in some cases tho, stuff is so hard to get hold of for the vast majority and some cant justify silly money. I put myself somewhere in the middle as I own some good gear and am on long waiting lists for good gear too, but I'm not averse to trying out a bargain.
I'd love to get an ERA (v2) but that seems impossible at the moment, I'll persevere tho.
What are people to do if modders can't keep up with demand? How many foggatis or caravelas have Been made?

Foggattis - around 200. Caravelas - around 350 maybe.
It's a tough one. Depends how much you want something and how far you are willing to go for it. I've not paid over the odds for anything I own right now, and I haven't had to do anything untoward either. I know a few guys now who are great for trades, and have built up online relationships with great modders and vendors.

You've got to be in the right place at the right time though Benny . . . which unless you're plugged into a computer 24/7 isn't always possible.
Like Skwoddy, I'm in the middle on this . . . I've invested a lot of money in ' bespoke ' equipment, have been on a waiting list for almost a year now for a certain device, that I've paid good money upfront for.
I've recently taken delivery of two pricey Mod built rebuildables, both are scratched which irks me, but I'll keep them as if I send them back, I've a long wait again for replacements.
So, I'm not averse to buying a clone either, if the quality & price are right and I can take delivery in a realistic amount of time.
That's the way it is for me.
