Different atomisers produce different levels of hit, vapour and flavour. However, the most contributary factor to throat hit is the nicotine level. Higher nicotine strength equals bigger throat hit in general terms. Sean

River, Sean is right & just to add to his post. E-liquid with a higher PG content will give more throat hit than VG. Plus a higher voltage battery will also give you more throat hit.

I'm trying to lower my nicotine level to see how far I can get and still get a good throat hit and the best so far is mint or menthol but I havent seen many juices with zero nicotine, has anyone else tried other flavours and if so where did you get them from.
Cheers

The old throat hit can be quite a delicate balance to strike. As previous posters have said it depends on what nic strength you're using. I find if i'm getting too much hit then i back off the amount i draw.
That's interesting about the menthol. Does menthol give its own "hit" as well as the nic ?

I thought that it was only the percentage of PG that gave the throat hit.. ?

Well not being an expert or even a seasoned vaper i assumed that when i got a higher nicotine content liquid and got a harder hit, on the back of my throat, with it. That it was down to the nicotine content being higher.
I had tried 18mg gold virg. And have found the gold virg 24mg to be a harsher throat hit.
Voila my reasoning. I should point out, however, that my findings are not science based in any way. Merely how my throat felt after vaping. <smile>

I just got some RY4 from James last week and mistakenly ordered super high or something. It feels like I'm smoking a real cig when I vape it. Definite throat hit. I'm having fun trying to mix it with all sorts to calm it down. Having said that it's helped get over my cravings a bit.

You can add a couple of drops of vodka to your low/zero nic juice to improve the throat hit if you want, not too much though if it's mainly a PG mix as it will make it too runny.

I'm not soooo fussed about alcohol these days. But i might try that.....just to see like.
I've only got 24mg juice at the mo. Quite a lot of it too. So i might have to wait a while before i do try it.

Used to love a few drinks at the weekend Del, since vaping I've hardly drunk at all, for me I had to break the drink/cig habit and somehow haven't got back in the routine again.
But I do still enjoy the odd session, it's the following day I'm not so fond of now.

Any time I quit smoking I quit booze until I got a handle on the non-smoking lark cos I knew I'd give in and have a ciggie when I was pixillated.
I enjoyed vaping and drinking wine back end of Jan but haven't had a drink since as I just haven't fancied one.

Oh don't get me wrong....i'm not on the wagon or against alcohol. It just flicks up now and then in my life. If freinds are round. Or if we go out.
It's nicer now though. At last i don't get have to get comletely sloshed to have a good time.
I can have one or two ...or three and that be enough. I can equally not have a drink for months. cigs used to go down well with a beer ...or is that vice versa ?
I used to hate having a cig hangover though. Chain smoking my way through an evening would make me ill the next day. Not the 8 pints of bitter.........and a couple of jd and cokes...lol

Oh I like a drink too. Trouble is my 3 suddenly becomes 33 in company and as you say, chainsmoking alongside made me feel ill with hangover next day, tired and lethargic the day after that. I can be civilised and have one or two drinks on my own but in company I find moderation somewhat difficult
