Hey, so glad iv found this forum!
I recently picked up a disposable 10motive e cig just to try and see what it was like. After about the 3rd drag i get this weird sensation in the back of my mouth/throat. It's like a weird irritation/tickling sensation? Is this normal? Am i right to be inhaling? Is this something to do with the taste? Would i be better off with menthol?
Alot of questions i know, thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer them

As long as you don't have a burning taste then that tickling sensation will most likely be the nicotine. By lowering the nicotine you should feel less of that sensation.

#welcome2# andy No, the weird sensation isn't normal. If you are a smoker, then yes, you are certainly right to be using electronic cigarettes instead of real ones - could be the best decision you ever made. Disposable e cigs are not the things to use though. They are ridiculously expensive, and your choice of flavours , strength and so on is tiny. If you can afford to spend about £30 or so now, you can get a kit which will cut your cost of smoking by more than half. If you can stand a big battery (something cigar-sized) then have a look at this www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-ve-riva-1100-deluxe-kit~151. If you don't think you can do with anything that doesn't look and feel like a cigarette then try something like www.vapeescape.co.uk/innokin-aio-pcc-kit~299Either way you will need some juice - it is what contains the nicotine and flavour. It also contains a liquid which these things are dissolved in, which may be straight glycerine (VG) or a chemical equivalent (PG). The 10motive will probably have a mixture of these, but thet don't say. Some people react to one or the other so it might be a good idea to buy two juices - one which is all VG and one which is mostly PG. The best flavour and strength of juice depend on what you smoke, and how much - if you let us know we can advise. Suppliers in this market respond very quickly. If you can place an order tonight you will probably have the equipment on Wednesday. In the meantime, try varying the way you suck on the 10motive. A long slow draw may work better than a short hard one, for instance. Do persevere. Electronic cigarettes are not only a helluva lot better for your health, they are also cheaper and more satisfying. Unfortunately stuff like the 10motive gives you only a limited idea of what is possible.

Hi Andy #welcome2# to AAEC Some good advice there from Giles. If you do take it, use code 'allabout' for 10% discount! Perhaps you're taking too big a drag on your e-cig? Many do at firsdt as they don't think they will get a throat hit like that of a real cig! Alternately the pre filled carto on it may be drying out a bit Have a look at the last 2 posts here about refilling your own cartomisers/clearomisers allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=newmembers&thread=2349&page=1#74660

Wow thanks alot for all your fast replies. I'v been reading other peoples storys and questions on here and found quite alot of infomation. I dont smoke alot compared to some people here, i go through 20 or so every 3 days. Still want to quit though! So i thought i'd give the e-cigs a try and the only thing putting me off is the weird sensation i get at the back of my throat after i exhale, I'm still planning to stick with this for a couple of days just to see how i deal with using an e-cig.
I'll definately check out those kits though, thanks alot!
