Well my adventure with my new aga T+ continues, at least it's not bursting into flame any more! My problem is this, it's just not wicking, I've rolled the mesh as tight as possible you can't see light when you look through it, it's super oxidised, burnt juice of it at least twenty times on it unrolled it took a bit off to make it thinner, rolled it back up ( after oxidising again) nice and tight, but it's just not drawing the juice up! I only have the one piece of mesh that came with it at the mo but the wick to my untrained eye appears fine. Res is 1.6 ohms, I can't think of anything else. Took the filler screw out swished it swirled it! What am I not doing?? Help!!!!

I've only had a little experience with these, but I remember reading somewhere that over oxidising the wick can affect the capillary action.

What are you vaping and what size is your mesh? VG is thicker and is better in a looser weave (320) whilst PG is thinner and can 'climb' a 400 or 500 mesh better

Way I do it is to wind 4-5 times 0.2 wire round a 2mm drill bit then with the coil still on , stick the drillbit down the wicks hole. then screw in the bottom wire on the baseplate screw and then the top wire round the top peg. Take the drillbit out ( turning it carefully so not to disturb the coil). Then roll a wick so it can just clear the coil diameter, flame it(oxidise) then slot it down the coil and unroll it so its touching the coil. Sometimes it works first time, sometimes I almost throw it out the window.Mostly it works first time. If theres a hot spot then I manouver the coils a bit with a knife edge up or down or around til the hot spot has gone.
Its a nightmare sometimes and I do empathise.

I don't know what the mesh size is as its what came with the aga, I'm vaping 50/50 in it at the mo. I'll have a go at loosening the roll and stick some 70/30 in tomorrow. Just waiting till midnight for the wife's pay to go in so I can Ninja in a more covert fashion and get some more mesh and wire, probs should get some juice as well to go with the new vamo that's coming also, maybe another vivi aaaggghhhhh!

Andy Did the drill bit but not the let the wick spring out to touch the coil just pulled the coil tighter to the wick, not getting any hotspots when I drip onto it but a little one at the top terminal when it hurt the juice off. This could drive me crackers. Think I prob need to loosen the roll a bit. Worth a try.

The theory is that towards the end of the month when my funds are dwindling she might not notice a few bob here and there when both our wages hit the bank, maybe! To be honest she's been great about it, just glad I'm not smoking.

I'm no expert by any means but do run two aga's daily and I do find that after sticking the wick in the coil that "unrolling" it a bit while in the coil really helps.

Thanks Andy that seems to be the recurring theme, I'll have to wait for more mesh, could suggest a day trip to York or Edinburgh (b&m shops) but doubt I'd manage not to blow my cover, OH might find that just a tad too convenient!

Another tip I found was to roll the wick material with a needle in it to get a straw effect. I havent needed to try that yet tho. Its definetely worth the hassell cos when you "get it, its a class vape. Andy
