I roll my wick around a straightened large paper clip & leave it in situ when I'm winding the coil to make sure I don't strangle the wick & leave an air passage through it. Always remember to remove said paper clip/syringe needle before firing it up though. It's a blerdy good way of guaranteeing a short if you don't. Edit - typos

+2 for the above . I fired with the drillbit still in just to" harden the coil".... obvious results.

Thanks madcats, I have three mad cats, a big fat one and two little dudes from the cats protection league. They're hugely entertaining!

Also what drip tip should I have? I've stuck one in from a vivi but its not a great fit, I didn't know it came without one. Newbie!

I think its the o rings that are the thing here. Any 510 will fit but I think I remember fitting a fatter o-ring off one I didnt like. This one , my friend, is a trial and error.
If you dont mind it not being shop made, I have one with black tape round the bottom of the driptip , enhough on to make it a tight fit.

Obviously neither of you have a large enough collection of pretty/shiney drip tips. Rule of thumb, whenever buying new atties always check out the vendors selection of drip tips, & if it's not large enough go somewhere else to buy the attie

i use 500 mesh with 100% vg not had a problem, one thing you do not mention is what battery/mod your using , ego bats struggle with aga's well mine do lol but vamo 3.5 to 3.8 v fine 6.5 to 8 watts fine all will say is when you burn the mesh flat do not forget to do Both sides ! all i have done with mine[ and yes they dont glow even with lights out] i use 30-40mm square, burned both sides, rolled then burn with juice on them, put into aga,use the nearest screw not the pole as the earth coil 5 times with .2 kanthal, and then pull the coil and wire close to center clamp and tightened, smotther with juice and then while still wet fill tank, then vape it ....never had a prob except sometimes doe forget and blow back into tip and air hole is near chin and ouch hot gas lol

Andy Thanks for the offer Andy but I've ordered some, and some mesh, and some more wire..... I've put it away until the mesh arrives. Tried putting wrapping a silica wick in it this after, god it was awful! Nearly choked and was spitting out orange, well, stuff. Think that bit of mesh needs retiring!
