Recoiling/wicking a CE5 Clearo

Can anyone advise, I tried recoiling and rewicking a CE5 clearo with the wick and wire I got here... It's bit loose, does it need to be tight? Also do I clip the wire that protrudes out the bottom to avoid shorting? My first attempt caused by battery light to continually flash so I must've done something wrong. Any advice greatly appreciated...

How are you coiling it Cammy?......When I do the vivi nova heads, I rest the wick on a straightened out paper clip, then coil the wire around that, so that it's nice and tight, but not too tight. Then slide the paper clip out before fitting.

Well the wicks came wired anyway so I used them as provided. They seemed alot looser than the one I replaced but dunno what was causing the short... I didn't clip the wire, maybe that was it?

Yes you'd need to clip the wire.

I've never used prewound wick and wire. It would suit me, I think.

I just did a new one, got it lovely. The old one didn't seem to want to glow red, no wonder it was vaping bad.
