I take my user name from something from my longest running hobby.
I'm a roleplayer (Dungeons and Dragons and that sort of thing).
The user name (which I use just about everywhere I'm registered) is the name of my longest surviving character which I have been playing since 1991 and is still going.

The name itself came about because rather than creating an exotic non-human character I made a very simple human warrior so used Verey Bowring as the name as a comment on this. He now of course is no longer a simple human warrior but a vampire/assassin/scientist - I think people running the games took the name as a challenge.

My user name genguskhan started many many years ago, when gaming on the pc first started off when 54 kbps was a fast internet. My blood group originated from the Mongols. So that’s where the name came from. It later really stuck when I did sword fencing and Medieval Re-enactment which sadly I had to give up due to the damage to my neck.

Interesting, what have you built?

Nothing special I'm afraid, just garden stuff and in general anything we need.
I built a wood shed and kids playhouse out of 2 old sheds donated by neighbours (easier than taking them to the tip, lol) and an old old climbing frame bought on ebay for a tenner, huge long old cedar posts, brilliant!

You can often find me in skips rummaging around for items of interest. I found a WW2 bubble sextant from a bomber, a couple of months ago and in the same skip, a few bikes for the kids which they will grow into in time. They need some work, but should be OK with a few other bits from skips

I must admit though, the sextant is sat next to me now, totally useless, but just too cool to throw away.
