I'm from the Toon and when I started playing on-line poker in 2008 I thought Toondog was a cool poker name as in ruff around the edges, from the toon, however most non Brits assume I mean cartoon dog so it didn't really have the impact I hoped for! I've just grown so used to using it on forums for fly fishing, guitars and poker it would've seemed strange to use anything else.

Friends and family use to say to me, that I had plenty of stamina as I never gave up on things, its not that I am very energetic but I was a glutton for punishment until I overcame that hurdle, I also done a lot of horse riding in my time and unfortunately use to gamble, my bookie also called me stam for short. now I don't bet for real ( but I do still go on Olbg ) or go horse riding as I tend to give up on things easily. I think I might just change my name to lazy Bast**d. I use Stamina on ukv and olbg.

Many moons ago, when t'internet was still newish and dial-up was all the rage, I needed a username for something or other. Hadn't a clue what to call myself and was desperately looking around the room for inspiration when our 3 month old kitten somehow scaled the heights of my desk and collapsed in an exhausted heap by the mouse. Inspiration duly noted She was a lovely wee tortoiseshell (see my avatar) and had been named by the kids as smudge because of the marking on her nose - so I've been smudge on everything I've ever needed a username for

BTW smudge is now 15 and still going strong

I've always been a fan of David Niven, who played a cricketer / robber named Raffles in a pre war movie of the same name. David's characters were usually suave and sophisticated and I wanted to be like him, a man of the world, a charmer with the ladies... OK, OK, I know I'm self deluding! I even smoked a brand called Raffles for years when they were available, and got the nickname at various workplaces.

interesting thread! I have 3 names I use.

Ratfinkz cos I kept rats and ratfink is another word for a brat so suited me perfectly.

Feline2001 because I've always loved cats and used to have massive collection of them (ornamental o be a I didn't collect real ones!)

and wizziwig (mainly my e mail address but used it on some sites) which is a derivative of the internet acronym wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) but also seemed kind of magical a bit like wizadora as I used to be interested in Wicca and still have an interest in the supernatural.

my email used to be justliloleme (just lil ole me) but I changed it after my dad read it as just lilo leme!

Just so people know, Hifistud is actually a concatenation of High, Fidelity and Studios, the name of my old company. I went to register on one of the various recording and live sound forums, using the "HiFi Studios" moniker which everyone called the place, and discovered that, in its wisdom, the forum software didn't accept spaces and allowed only eight character usernames. So it shortedned it and didn't give me the option to change it. It kinda stuck after that.

My name is Ross, Traffic planners in the office then started calling me Rosco which then went on too Roscopecotrain from dukes of hazard although the spelling is different i think. I will point out that i look nothing like him in looks or size lol. I am one of the rare slim truckers lol.

Had a little boy 3 years ago and the office now call him RJ (Rosco Junior) He loves it!

im Rybes because of me last name, Reiber. over the years friends have always called me by my last name. over time it eventually got shortened to Rybes. i now use that as a first name as i never really did like my real one.
