I'm no doctor but have read it could be rubbish in your lungs been able to finally get out. Think it's quite common.Could also be a different type of juice that irritates your throat. Drink plenty of fluids River.

Yes, it takes quite a while for everything to settle down. See how it goes, drinking plenty as said, and change juice-base just to see if it makes any difference, maybe just get a small size? scylla

As I've said before, I can't get SO to vape because it makes him cough so badly. "Differently" from smoker's cough scylla

I coughed hard at the beginning but I think for me it was 'cause vaping is a different feeling that cig smoke...my mom coughs when she tries my PV...I still get a tickly cough if I don't drink LOTS of water...I pretty much keep water at hand....

River, Once when I quit smoking I had the most awful gunky cough which I didn't normally have, throat, mouth and tongue ulcers. Never felt so ill and after a month saw the GP who said my body was detoxing and to stick with it. Lasted another week or so and then felt fine. It only ever happened that one time. Last time I quit I was fine but much helped by the high chocolate and welsh rarebit diet I adopted Vaping can be a little drying. I prefer the PG mostly mixes but I do think PG is more drying than VG. ps Nicotine is an anaesthetic and if you're getting less now than with analogues any underlying chest and throat irritations you haven't noticed will be felt now.

Agrees with Clutter, vaping has caused a dry mouth and tickly cough for me too. I have changed to VG juice and the problem has nearly gone. I also found that if the juice strength was not high enough,I was vaping so hard to get the nicotine, I was making myself cough! River, all these things are trial and error, and very personal, I'm afraid, but keep on experimenting and you will find the right solution for your needs Let there be no more greenies

I've been vaping 6 weeks tomorrow. The first couple of weeks were dogged with an intermittent cough, however the hardest thing was the 2 weeks of pure hell from mouth and tongue ulcers and a very sore throat.... I rode it out though and been fine since. I know mouth ulcers, sore throats, coughs and flu-like symptoms are common when giving up smoking so i dont blame the vaping.
I do get the dry mouth from vaping, and now always keep a glass of water to hand. In fact a small bottle of water in my handbag has become part of my vaping kit.
