I've decided not to spend any more money on low nicotine juice. Instead, I'm going to make my own. I reckon I have established a few theories about my taste in e-liquid which gives me hope. 1) I like plain citrus flavours (so probably only need to buy basic orange/lemon/lime flavours. 2) Nicotine PG is presumably the most expensive ingredient (25p/ml?) and the flavouring, whilst more expensive in small bottles than base (30p/ml?) is not needed in as much quantity, unless of course you are going for zero, then there's no actually base anyway. So, I need to step to it and get this going. Would any kind person be able to advise me on a few things please? 1) how much am I likely to need to spend to make 10x10ml? Rough estimate? or 10x20? 2) can I just use PG as the main constituent (I'm rather suffering with anything with 50% VG t.b.h.) 3) is there likely to be any difference between Flavourart or Capella in terms of concentration? I ask as most "basic/single flavour" juices I buy (not Frog/Griz etc.) are just so lacking in flavour? I got a pair of £4.99 low nic citrus and I may as well just vape pure base+PG. Flavour is good - I prefer stronger. I thought I'd start with something very simple. Base+PG+flavour - if I want an exotic juice, I'll leave that to the experts. Sensible? or pointless, just find better juices.

i have just looked on my juice calc and the simple fruit flavours i used about 12% which works out around 2.4ml in a 20ml bottle so you should get 80ml of juice out of a 10ml flavour bottle
there is differences between "brands" of flavouring in regards to strenght and also of taste aswell
i cant say anything about vaping pure pg juices as i have never done it i stick with around 70%PG-30%VG

Yes you are sensible considering mixing your own... it put's you in control (flavour strength and PG/VG content). It should also work out cheaper. Single flavour mixes are easy to perfect and a good place to start mixing.
50ml of 54mg/ml nic base will make about 112.5ml of e-liquid @ 24mg/ml strength, or 150 ml @ 18mg/ml strength.
Yes you can use 100% PG.... not a problem.
Flavour strength is subjective, some mix up to about 20-25%, but a little experimentation is required to find what's right for you.

PG/VG not much in it for nic base Boots VG 200ml is £1.29 in store [got two on monday] Flavours/prices differ from vendor to vendor, just note some of these cause tanks to crack,so maybe glass tanks needed ebay probably cheapest place to get PG from strength of flavour when you mix it add what the calc says if not strong enough add bit more leave for few days retry, you can get basic idea of taste by dripping a bit of it bottles i use either old empty ones of ejuice i have ,then used empty flavour bottles and then used empty nic base bottles[all washed out firstlol] as for spend well it will be a LOT lower than pre made stuff i think some have worked it to be around 30p for ml[saw this on other forum] good part about mixing own you always have that supply at hand, note it going down mix some more, plus experiments ie orange lemon lime, use the weakest tatser first as primary rest as hint off, and write your trials down that way when you hit the yup spot on you know the mix you need have fun i have since i started doing own mix

Thanks, some really useful replies.
Maybe i'll go for a 50ml base, 200ml PG, (that's still too much base for low nic, I guess) and enough flavour to do 10 x 20ml. Flavour @ 12% (to start) is going to mean getting up towards 30ml. Going for 15% will mean using all 30ml?
and try to make 200ml.
andy - some great tips there....thanks.

Single flavour mixes are easy to perfect and a good place to start mixing. Thanks. I shan't try to run before walking, just a simple 3-part mix with as much flavour as is sensible.... I certainly shan't buy zero again - £5 for a tasteless bottle of PG/VG with a hint of fruit..... I might make some zero though.....all in good time.

I've decided not to spend any more money on low nicotine juice. Instead, I'm going to make my own. Great decision. Low nic juice seems heavily overpriced to me Nicotine PG is presumably the most expensive ingredient Not necessarily. The price of nic and especially of flavourings varies a lot, and it depends how strong you like the flavour. When I used DV doppio caffeinated at 18mg I was spending twice as much on flavour as I was on nic. Now I mostly use CCW flavours I still probably spend 30% or so more on flavour than nic, because I mix at 20% how much am I likely to need to spend to make 10x10ml? Rough estimate? or 10x20? Last time I calculated, my espresso cost about 16p/ml, my choc mint about 9p/ml can I just use PG as the main constituent (I'm rather suffering with anything with 50% VG t.b.h.) I mix pure PG for myself; only use VG if I plan to share it is there likely to be any difference between Flavourart or Capella in terms of concentration? I have yet to use Capella. For the couple of flavours I have tried Flavourart has been a little stronger than PA or CCW, but not by nearly enough to justify the price. It sounds like you need strong flavours. If I were you I'd start at 20%. Eminently sensible. I think that starting simple is exactly right. You can get exotic later. Also, start with small volumes. - 5ml or 10ml. Mixing is great because you can get just the flavour you want, it is cheaper, and (sometimes anyway) fun.

I'd just mix small 10ml bottles the largest at first Djs, until you get a feel for your flavours and the concentrations that you enjoy vaping at . . . the mistake I made at first, was making large bottles of ejuice up, that turned out to be pretty blergh and I had to tweak like mad to get anything vapeable. Small is good to start with . . . .

Orange, Lemon, Lime. Maybe one other.
