Take the head out and remove the coil and inspect the silicone isolator..

You can use multiple wicks. You are limited only by what you can get through the slot which is around 2.5mm..Coil's which are not touching the wick can also cause a funky burning taste..

If you cut two tiny little "v" shapes opposite each other in the silicone cap it gives you two advantages, the silicone is much less likely to touch the wick meaning less chance of it getting heated and more juice can get to the coil if you give it a swish.

i have used 5x1mm wicks on one of mine and it worked well.

If you handle the wick while you are building it (hard not to) it gets greasy and that takes time to burn off. I wouldn't assume its the cap unless you can see damage to it.

Just checked all parts thoroughly and can see no damage or burn marks on anything, the only thing that is wrong is that every part absolutely stinks of that sweet metal/rubber....give up as i cannot describe the smell, one thing i do know is the head has the strongest odor out of all the parts.

Thread hijack.......bored loading windows onto a lappy, so did my first mini nova with 2mm wick and 0.2 Kanthal about ten minutes later have a 2ohm coil.
