I'm trying to get 232 miles to a tank like normal Actually in my defence the reading was 40miles this morning and this is the reading after I drove 20miles. The battery died the other day and reset the ECU I guess so it'll take a while to get accurate again (when I filled up it showed 500 miles... I chortled )

Lol I'd guess at 3-4 miles it's happened to me a few times after parking on a hill! I look at what the needle says to judge how quick I need to get fuel lol

What game, garage roulette? hehe Should be ok then the 1/2 mile to a pump before work tomorrow then, I can relax a bit. I love the car and wouldn't want to change it but 22mpg does get old at times :/

Kibbs, fill it up, it's not good for the car to pull the dregs of the petrol tank though the engine!

I used to really push my car to the limit... 0miles to go and I would go to leeds and back on the motorway then a drive around bradford at rush hour to pick a friend up from work before filling up or a week of picking my daughter up from school. (sometimes I would get to the last drags where the dash would say EAC FAIL and would go really slow until I filled up but I never ran out of fuel lol

lol Karma, yes I will but the wife had the bank card today so was kind of stuck till I got home. I did the same in my old 406 Hdi, I knew it was getting close because I was on 650 miles and had been off the bottom of the gauge for a few miles. All was going well till I went round a roundabout and then no warning it just died lol Still a fill up and all was well again.

I was eco driving tonight when I got down to one mile, clutch in and freewheeling as much as possible Amazing how many cyclists, buses and learner drivers seem to appear out of the woodwork when you're trying to keep it rolling!

Actually, if its a fairly new car, you would be better leaving it in gear (no clutch down) to coast down hills.I don't know how it works but they don't use any fuel when coasting down hill in gear but if it's out of gear, it uses fuel as it thinks the car is just idling.

I wasn't going to spend too much time coasting around in neutral, obviously dangerous on the road so I had to make do with clutch down and in gear.
I guess coasting down hill with no throttle but in gear with clutch up would have worked fine too although down hill the revs would rise with the speed.

Lol I had to play that game today in the van, thought it's ok there's a garage on my way, get's there and it's shut, undergoing building work, still made it another 10-12 miles to another garage. Thought I'd be walking though, nah not really, I've never lost at petrol/diesal roulette
