Gave a lift to my Roll up smoking son in law today first time since I've started vaping.... He actually asked me if I minded him smoking I said carry on, (I think he had 2 or 3) & I didn't even batter a eyelid.

For a 35 year 30+ a day smoker like me that's a big deal.

Well done Moblee, but I suspect that there will come a time when you don't want folks smoking in your company.

Perhaps not so much that they will affect you but when you have saved a bit and bought the next car or repainted the house and got rid of all the nic stains, then the idea of someone smoking and stinking the car or house will become a no no.
Especially as your sense of smell will be all the more sensitive to old fag smells.

I love the fresh smell a a cigarette that someone close to me is smoking.
But I detest old cigarette smell, dirty ashtray or the stink when I walk into a smokers house.

Give it a few weeks and you'll be opening a window and waving your hands about to dissipate the smog

I was on a course last week, and ended up in the smokers corner for a vape, not very pleasant.

<off topic> On the plus side I bumped into hgvroy whilst there, got chatting about ecigs and found out it was him, he looks odd in transvestite clothing though.

It is weird isn't it. My other wise perfect wife has refused to use the stuff I got her (£40 down the pan) and is still smoking, but to her credit doesn't smoke around me in the house - neither of us actually smoked inside since we've known each other. But the amazing thing about vaping is that it just doesn't tempt me to have a ciggie when she has one in the car, or when she nips out for one, whereas in past attempts with cold-turkey I'd have broken by now for sure during the week.

So far I've still had one or two cigs on a Friday or a Saturday night when I'm on the beers - usually broken into 2 or 3 toots at a time rather than just having a whole one, but I think this weekend I might even get past that last lingering problem (famous last words).

I'm rapidly approaching a month here and you're a few days ahead mate. It's great isn't it.

Same here on the addiction. I can't believe what I used to smoke. Morning till night for nearly 20 years. It would definitely have killed me.

At this point with the missus I just ramble on about how great vaping is and then got her some stuff that the helpful folk suggested which would suit her worries about vaping (refilling, size of batteries, etc.)

She doesn't really 'do' forums so she's not read anything so relies on me to suggest stuff which might be the problem. I suspect me nagging her too much pushes her away from it, if you know what I mean, so I've tried to stop going on about it too much. I just say stuff about how nice my new flavour is and so on. Don't really push it so much.

She does say that she'll try it this weekend. At this point in time, my sister-in-law seems keener to try out e-cigs, maybe because she avoids me banging on about how good it is 24 hours a day

I had to practically force my friend to have a cig by the kitchen window, she was insisting she would go and stand in the back garden freezing to have one.
I would never have asked her to go outside when I smoked and would never do it now. I hated being forced outside of buildings and now I don't smoke wouldn't force someone else to.
