Total Newbie seeking advice from you lovely folk

Hi everyone

I am brand spanking new to the forum

I'm Karen from Birmingham and 35 in two weeks and I'm thinking of turning to vaping for my 35th birthday .24 hours ago I started vaguely looking into e cigarettes after seeing a cig like sample in a corner shop and from that have ended up here and feel like my head is going to explode with information

Could I stumble through some quick questions and thoughts so far for anyones input who has the time

I am currently a 10 - 15 a day smoker of either Sterling Menthol or Berkley Menthol superking

I like the menthol hit and I'm happy to try an e cig that doesn't look like an actually cigarette.

I was thinking of getting a 1100mah eGo eith VV batteries and a Kanger T3 ( bottom feed ) top

I have chosen this because I read someone else was happy any I don't have a clue what I am talking about :-)

1) Could anyone recommend somewhere I can buy a starter kit like above ( online preferable ) and advise on if I need any extras such as more batteries

2) I have NO clue what I am doing. Everything above is double dutch to me. If I order a starter kit and e-juice then can I assume I will be able to work it out with help from here as I go along

3) E juice Nicotine strength. I have looked at various sites and the options seem to be 12mg/24mg/36mg. Would a 24mg be about right for what I was smoking ? Should it make a difference then I work from home and probably smoke about 10-12 between 9am and 5pm with just one or two in the evening

4) E Juice amount - should I assume I will use about 2ml a day based on 10-15 a day stinky fag previous

5) E Juice flavours - it seems from reading around that maybe I should pick a mint and some other flavours in small quantities as my tastes may change . Have I got that right or will I need extra kit to change flavours ( or am I totally getting the wrong end of the stick)

6) A random thought for the summer : can you travel on a plane and take an e cig kit with you. I don't mean to smoke on the plane - I just mean am I going to have trouble getting it through customs without being suspected of being a suicide bomber

I'm strangely nervous but excited about changing over - thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any advise anyone can give

I would recommend 24mg first, you can drop that later

you could get a atomiser to drip to try flavours, just get your kit first though. HS menthol sensation is a lovely menthol (I vape mainly menthol)

There is no problem carrying e-cigs on planes, just take note of how they want you to carry batteries

That kit includes two batteries. A spare charger wouldn't be a bad idea.

2 Yep!

3 24mg might be too strong. I'd start with 12-18

4 Difficult to say, but that's probably about right.

5 Correct. If you buy from Vapeescape, you can get some samplers. That kit includes one clearo and 5 cartos, so you can try up to 6 flavours with it.

7 I haven't been vaping for long myself, so bear in mind that there are many others on here who know better than I do!

Some very good advice given already Karen so I will just welcome you to the forum

As you like menthol it will be much easier finding a nice menthol to vape, the best tobacco menthol I ever vaped was from Liberty flights and for straight menthol, well loads are lovely, HS menthol sensation and Liquia do lovely ones as well.

Hello Karen as a seasoned pro vaporer (Joke) i can recommend Vape escape as a vendor,
The Riva 1100 deluxe kit is an excellent choice and very easy to use and set up,
After only a week ive already cleaned out my clearo and filled a carto using the condom method tis so easy once these good folk guide you through it,
I also smoke menthol and in my opinion its much better than any menthol ciggie you will ever smoke.

So get a kit and enjoy the freedom from the cancer sticks, you wont regret it. Im already repulsed by the smell of ciggie smoke.

Hi Karen and welcome from me too. Good advice above - you could always add a Kanger T3 to your order if you want to compare that with the clearomiser you get with the kit - lots of people like them. The Kanger MT3 is pretty much the same, but looks different as an alternative

So then - I am feeling brave and ready to order tomorrow on payday ready for Monday or Tuesday. Agggghhh

Good choice - a backup charger is always handy, but if you get on well with this kit you will also need a backup battery, so I'd get both a bit later if I was you.
You will definitely need some juice, so best to buy a selection of small bottles until you find which ones you like.
The clearomiser is simpler to fill than a cartomiser - you just pour some liquid in and you can see when it needs re-filling. There are a couple of videos on how to fill cartomisers and clearomisers around here somewhere
