Private Messaging

Dunno if it is just me but the PM system is quite confusing..

1. You can't make out if a PM in your Inbox or outbox is read or unread.

2. If you reply to a PM, your reply also shows in your inbox and outbox like a private topic. So if you are replying to someone then the PM link in both the Inbox and outbox lead to the same private topic. So you see your reply in your Inbox!

Hope Proboards have an update to this soon because it's doing my head in.

Also a question:

If you send a PM and realize you made a mistake and deleted it before the receiver read it, will the receiver still see the deleted PM?

I quite like seeing the whole conversation in my pm's!

I do agree though that it's a bit of a PITA that we can no longer see if a message has been read

I don't! No distinction between Inbox and Outbox essentially and the reason I suspect why there are no read/unread marks!

May have got the wrong end of the stick but if you click on outbox it shows open and closed envelopes as we had before

For example one of mine I sent this afternoon hasn't been read by the recipient and shows a closed envelope , the others have and show open

BC, new messages that I haven't read appear as a closed envelope in my inbox. Messages that I send show as an open envelope in my outbox even when they've not been read by the recipient.

Quite possible on the very first one.

But once he/she replies to the PM it gets converted to a private topic and then all the read/unread marks are gone and you the link in both inbox and outbox will show you the same thing.
