Your battery might need recharging, could be running low.

I'm using a mini nova with a riva battery. It's not that it needs charging, just sometimes much stronger than others weird..

I find this with the Mini Nova, seems like its a good hit a first then the wick drys up. Maybe its not wicking right :S

Give a good swirl before each vaping session to wet the wicks (one of the reason's i don't like wicking systems as i am too lazy to swirl )

Ah I see I guess that makes sense. Is there a better clearomiser that I could use that prevents this, or is it just one of those things?

Lozzy, i am also getting some inconsistency - sometimes a great throat hit and sometimes not. Its frustrating - as i think you said recently in another topic, its when i dont get the throat hit that i am tempted towards a roll-up. I haven't had one though since Tuesday morning when i had one before the post arrived with my new juice.
Are you using a low resistance clearomizer? I have had far better throat hits overall with the vision v3 1.8ohm rebuild able one than i was on the standard resistance one that came with my kit.
I find if i do a sort of triple draw keeping the button pressed in i can get a better throat hit if its one of those random times when the throat hit isn't so good.

Yeah might give the 1.8 another go, did try it with a flavoured liquid but it didn't like the juice. Might put my every day one in there and give it a go. Thanks Shorty, it's frustrating isn't it. If I get a good throat hit, then I'm happy!

I also find that the thicker, higher VG juices don't wick quite as freely as thinnier ones and require more frequent swirling/dippig to keep the wick wet.

It could be a dry hit as others have said but I've never had that with a Nova before. Dry hits are vile and they are serious throat hit lol ;-) It could also be the fact that the coils take a few seconds to heat up, warmer coils tend to give more TH as well, so if you are noticing the weak hits at the start then it might need some priming puffs to warm the coil or higher voltage on a vv device to get the vapour warm enough. The dry hits would be more likely to happen after you are caning it faster than the nova can Wick more juice into the atty .

Low resistance heads help with hotter vapour faster as well.

I.M.O.
Unless you go down the Kanger T3 route (bottom coil, always wet) then a Nova is about as good as it gets.
BUT, you've got to do lots of swooshing and give the thing time to wick. It's not flawless technology...it's a bit of wick, which can't keep up all the time.
I had terrible results with both Novas and V3s in the early days. I vaped too fast and forgot to swoosh the liquid, and I used too many high VG juices. I was changing those heads on a a daily basis.
...it was my fault.....
I realise that now.
I'm still not tempted by the T3s though. I have a team of 3 (4?) and they are more gurgley than I can bear. I've not had a clean drag on one in about 3 months, even with fresh heads and larking about with the grommets etc. Again, though. It will depend on juice. I bet a high VG juice in a T3 is pretty much the business.

It can also depend on how you vape lozzy - I find that if you puff away on anything quite a lot you can start to lose the TH. Sometimes the answer is just to stop vaping for a bit and after a while when you try it again the TH comes back. If this is happening quite often, you may just need more power which means some combination of lowering the ohms and raising the voltage (if you have a variable voltage device of course )

Do you think I need a variable voltage battery? If so can you recommend any?
