So on day 3 of vaping and thought I'd give my initial impressions on the juices I bought. "Old Holby" - is my favourite. Nice Tobacco taste and excellent throat hit. Good substitute for the roll ups. Ordered 30ml as the 5ml sample is already gone. "Caramel Tabac" - Not sure where the Tabac bit is on this one. Definite Caramel taste, but no throat hit at all. "Black Cat" - Tastes more or less the same as the "Caramel Tabac". It is all caramel and no tobacco taste though. Has a throat hit that the former is lacking but not sure if it's pleasant. "Vanilla" - Pleasantly surprised at this one. Not a powerful vanilla taste, but a nice smooth vape with a decent throat hit. I've left the flavours I am not to keen on to steep to see if they improve. On order I have 20ml of "Rootbeer Float" from Vapourtine, 30ml of "Old Holby" from Vapeescape, 80ml (32 x 2.5ml) Oasis sample pack and the FREE Sample Pack of Royalvapor Mystic Juice (5 x 1.5ml) Yummies range. In total 137.5 ml of various Juices, So you could say I'm getting into it. This site should carry a warning all of it's own though "Reading Through These Forums Can Seriously Damage Your Pocket"

Lol Mark, it can indeed However, once you have a stock pile & find a few flavours you want to stick to, vaping really can be done very cheaply - as long as you don't get hooked into the shiny syndrome

Don't forget to let that Old Holby steep, it won't taste the same as the sample as i think the samples are already steeped, I noticed this with the Banoffee Cream sample, the next order was for 30ml and it deffo needed steeping Just tested a 5 week old RY4...omg it tastes good Still staring at my 30ml of Mint Choc Chip from Alchemists Cupboard, smells better everyday i let it steep...yum yum.

Hi Mark, glad your kit arrived swiftly and you like some of your initial order. It's been said often here that our tastebuds will change (or just recover) after giving up real cigs and this will change our vaping preferences so don't give up on the ones you aren't keen on just yet; could be you like them alot better after a period off the cigs, if not mix them up with a tobacco thats a bit strong tasting for you I have gleaned all of the above from reading on here and not from experience btw! Good luck with it all.

So the samples have already been steeped Romelee? So not much point in steeping my Caramel Tabac and Black Cat then I guess?
Oh well as Morag says hopefully I'll come around to them when my taste buds change from not smoking. If not I could always pass them on as I think I may have converted a few friends who visited today.
Hi Irishcas, thank you for the welcome.

No problem Romelee, I'll leave them to steep for a few days and see what happens. If they lose taste then no big deal really.
I would like to add though that there is actually nothing wrong with the taste. The Caramel flavour that I get from both the Black Cat and Caramel Tabac is nice enough. It's just there is not enough Tobacco taste for my current needs. So I hope no one gets put off of them by my opinion, because as with most things in life. It's subjective.

Hi, MarkS,
Leave the Black Cat for a wee while, even though the 5ml samples are pre-made and usually do not require steeping. Some, however, do improve with time. I didn't 'get' Black Cat at first. Left it for around 3 weeks or so and came back to it last week and it was great - even better mixed in with some Gingerbread.
Enjoy all the taste experiences. It's a whole new World out there. Might be worth paying a visit to Frogster at The Alchemist's Cupboard for some gorgeous flavours once you've tired of the 'baccy ones.
Good luck!

Thanks for the advice Sam.
I do have a whole range of different flavours on order to try, so will let the Black Cat sit for a bit and return to it later.
Did you leave your's to sit with the lid on, or did you remove it to steep it?

Mark, from what I've read steeping involves leaving it sitting with the lid off, I'm sure someone will come along to confirm this.

Yeah I read that too Morag, I was just wondering if Sam left it laying around in a draw with the lid or or if she actually steeped it by removing the lid. Mine is currently sitting in the cupboard with the lid off.

Mark, from what I've read steeping involves leaving it sitting with the lid off, I'm sure someone will come along to confirm this. Usually in a warm, dark place like a hot press with the lid off. Other members have their own 'secret steeping places', I'm sure and will advise. I have nowhere practical to steep mine as I have an insatiably curious 3 year old so wouldn't risk having the top off anywhere here (ooh errr) I keep mine in a locked file box in my bedroom - lids on. Have had no probs with flavours after a week or so of being left alone, unless it's Grant's Vanilla Custard or Pear Drops which are usually quaffed as soon as I can rip the envelope open. Naughty me.

I steeped some ready-to-go juices and found them unvapeable. Guess it depends on their "vintage".???
