Holy moley, what a day!!

Well, I have had the most topsy turvy valentines day i can ever remember.
I have had dreadful toothache all week. Had emergency appointment Tuesday where they gave me antibiotics and said come back next week to have tooth pulled out. Its that really big molar second from the back of the jaw. Well, I woke up this morning to flowers, chocs and card. He even got my brekkie which made me feel really bad because my tooth was so bad i couldn't eat. By lunch time i was going out of my mind with pain. Bare in mind I already wear a morphine patch for my spine so i cannot imagine what it would have been like without it!!! Mr Dolly rang dentists and demanded i be seen today. bundled into taxi with wheelchair on board feeling extremely nauseas.
I must add that i go to the dentist school to have treatment as it is free. The poor student looked terrified when she saw me as i must have looked dreadful LOL I was extremely short tempered and feel quite bad about it now. I did apologise afterwards. The tutor arrived. Said once i was numbed up they would pull tooth out. This poor skinny little Asian girl tried and tried to pull it out but it just wouldn't budge.
In wades the tutor. A 6ft 4" South African hulk of a bloke (rather stunning too) sticks his right leg between mine leans over my chest and literally rips it out in one swoop.
WHAT A MAN!! My hero...
I was all a flutter and so relieved. Mr Dolly laughed uncontrolably when we got outside as he knew how much i would enjoy being smothered by such an adonis.
Sadly my fun is over now because the numbness is wearing off and OMG how sore i am!! Have taken more pain killers and need to go to bed now. Will be glad when this valentines day is over.

That's a good point! smoking is extremely bad in the first 24 hours after an extraction, it can lead to a very painful dry socket, resulting in more dental treatment!

It's probably best to avoid vaping as well, for 2 reasons -

the act of drawing/sucking can dislodge the blood clot at the extraction site

vaping can make the mouth dry, you need plenty of saliva at the moment to keep your mouth healthy!

Ouch, poor you, but at least the errrr....root of that particular pain has gone, hope you heal quickly now. As for the hunk, you lucky sod! I'm a dentaphobe, but he sounds perfect, so send him over here....pretty please?

I actually believe that every British citizen should receive free NHS health care regardless of background or status.

The fact that we have to pay for a dental check up or treatment is a point of contention for me, it should be complimentary as it is with a doctor or hospital appointment.
