I have been using e cig full time since dec 3rd and no cravings for the real thing and quite happy with the way its been working until now, l use the riva 1100 with refillable clearomisers and have a variety of flavours l like all 18mg strength but l do have the usa 24mg for lst thing in the morn but have not needed it for past couple of weeks but last few days l don't seem to be getting anything from any of the 18mg ones only the 24 but if l use that to much l feel ill so try and keep swooping around flavours in the hope some of the others will kick in again, l have flavours from vapescape and vapourtine and am having new wicks and cleaning out every day never use same for different flavours etc so what is wrong is it that l have got use to the 18mg and need to up it or is it something else? l don't have a cold or anything like that so hoping someone can advise me without it involving me throwing everything away and starting again?

Hi Ripple - you'll find that this happens from time to time. I'm not massively qualified to answer, only from my own personal experience, but I have found that upping the nic levels won't cure this, it's probably your taste buds getting a bit jaded. Try changing to a few new flavours, and if you like it a good menthol will rejuvenate things too. Drink plenty of water regularly so that you don't get dehydrated, and a good toothbrushing and mouthwash will also keep things fresh in the oral department. Another suggestion which I have picked up from this forum is trying a VV (Variable Voltage) battery like a Spinner or Twist. This will enable you to boost the voltage to get some more flavour from your juices. Of course if you want to go the whole hog, £50 will get you a Vamo mod with the option to also boost the wattage to help you get the best from your kit. I'm sure you will get some more informed answers to your query, but that's my small contribution! Andy

Ripple, you don't need to change the wicks every day in your Novas!
You could try some menthol juice, may be enough to kick start your taste buds again!

Taste buds are so temperamental, bit like women . Today from the moment I had my first vape till now, everything tastes just great and I have tried a few different flavours because of that fact, other days, it just tastes so bland. I dont think there`s any accounting for it really. Sucking a mint will often revive them a bit for me, it kind of resets them

Ripple - which batteries do you use at the moment? If you can post a picture of them, so much the better for us to identify them and help some more. Also, as above, you don't need to change wicks every day! They should last at least 2 weeks with average vaping, sometimes considerably more, and as long as you clean your clearos every week of so that should be enough. If you use Mini Novas or the rebuildable clearos, they usually come with a 2.4ohm atomiser head. This is an average rating - if you lower the ohm rating to 1.8, the lesser resistance allows more current through to the head and therefore vapourises at a hotter temperature, providing you with more vapour and throat hit. Conversely, a higher ohm rating like 2.8ohm burns cooler but gives more flavour, but of course you lose out on TH and vapour. I hope this makes sense! If you can let us know exactly what gear you are using at the moment, we can tailor our advice better to help you. Generally, be prepared to work through this, you will find that your taste buds will clear, and try the menthol idea, along with brushing teeth, drinking water or sometimes a good acidic fizzy drink, and be prepared to change juices a few times each day to revitalise things. Happy vaping! Andy

Tasteless syndrome struck me once while away on holiday, was at my witts end, fortunately i stumbled across an ecig vendor in a mobile phone shop in Bridlington, he fixed me up with some really strong tobacco flavours that taste rank to me now but at the time they saved my bacon.
I've still got 'em somewhere in my crap box, p'raps i'm saving 'em just like bomber in case it strikes again. So +1 for bomber's advice.
