Hi everyone, haven't been on here for ages. I've had Rivas pretty much from day one but find them temperamental. In the year I've been vaping, I've got through 4 of them (don't know if this is normal or not). I want something that's going to last a fair bit longer and is less likely to let me down while I'm out and about now that I know that vaping's the way I want to continue to go. Can anyone recommend something that's rock solid, will work with my existing Riva clearomisers and isn't complicated with variable voltage, etc.
Thank you.
Jo

Are you sure the rivas were broken? Often the centre pin sinks a bit, but it's easy to fix!
Probably the most bomb proof set up would be a mechanical mod with some decent batteries!

They haven't all broken as such, one's dead as a doornail and two just don't hold a charge for more than a couple of hrs. The only one going strong is one of the ones in my original kit that's now a year old. Is this just one of the things you have to factor into your monthly costs of vaping with these type of batteries or are some makes a bit more solid than others. You said the 'mod' word and made me scared :-) Is it really that much of a step up? I'm a big fan of simple, Karma. Thank you for your help.

Mods is not that frightening jojo, it is still a battery in something, main difference is that you take the battery out to charge, there are many ones around that are not that expensive or to big.

Reading the O.P. I must say, a Joyetech ego- T tube Mod might be a good purchase.
They are made up of 3 parts, tube, battery and "controller" and would cost about £30 to get started. From then on, have as many batteries as you need, replace anything that breaks....
and they last.....last......last......ages between charges. A 2000mah AW battery in the set 3.3v mode will last 2 or 3 times longer than a RIVA.

Oooh, what have you all done now :-) Ordered that one from Safercigs but I'm going to get the charger, spares and a vivi nova from good ol' reliable Jason at Vapeescape. New toys! I love vaping.
Thank you for all your wonderful advice everyone - there's not a more helpful forum in the world than this one xx

They only had the white one in stock but I'll buy some new coloured tubes when I've tested it out. It feels like last year again when I was deciding on my kit. Is the vivi nova just like a Vision clearo, take off the mouthpiece and pour in? Will definitely report back once I've had a try-out.
