Hi guys do dual coil cartomisers provide a better throat hit? I'm going to be purchasing the twist soon which I'm hoping will improve the throat hit, just wondered if it's worth using a dual coil too? Thanks

They provide more vapour and some say more TH. I found nic levels provide more of the TH than coil type. I do like DCs though especially LR ones... they fire up lovely but seem to die quicker than SR single coils

Thanks Kibbster what do you mean by the LR ones? Which ones are they?

LR = Low Resistance, usually about 1.5 - 1.8ohm. less resistance equals more power to the atomiser head, and results in more vapour and TH, but as Kibbster says, they do burn out a bit more quickly. SR = standard resistance which normally comes in at about 2.4ohms. Andy

Great thank you. Would a 1.8 head be pretty much the same as a dual coil? I mean is there much difference really between two?

Well as DC's are 15-1.8 I think you'd notice a difference over a single coil 1.8 head. I've got some Dual coil 1.5 carts and Clearos and they are a lot more... firey than my 1.8 heads in my Novas. Not really a fair comparison I know with each other but all I can offer. Also Dual coil LR Clearos do try to set fire to your lips when chain vaping Well at higher voltages anyway. yes I'm a bit of a monster, I like running DC LR heads at around 4v hehe Might be why they don't last very long with me

Lol well I've tried a 1.8 on my riva battery and it tastes burnt! I'm gonna get a twist on pay day so I'm hoping I get a stronger throat hit with that. I'm a nightmare just love a massive throat hit almost to the point I cough!

Juice also has a lot to do with it, i mean Banoffee @ 24mg and RY4 @ 24mg (RY4 kicks the crap out of Banoffee for TH) and same goes for other types of Juices.

I wish I could get less throat hit. So I guess were on opposite ends of the scale.

Lavatube V1 + Kanger T3 and Lemon Meringue Pie(18mg) at 4.0-4.2v
T3's give less throat hit than other clearos, but I'm guessing the extra voltage is what is giving me the throat hit. If I reduce it I don't get as much vapour or flavour so I just put up with the throat hit, to be honest.

In case you don't know, and for the lurkers - how you vape makes a lot of difference to throat hit. I like a lot, so I take a long slow draw into my mouth followed by a sharp suck to the lungs. Also makes a difference if you take in air at the same time as the vapour.
Dual coils tend to be low resistance (because they are wired in parallel). All low resistance devices deliver more power (at the same volt level) than high res, so produce more vapour and hence taste and TH, but are more likely to burn the juice. Dual coil produces more vapour still because you have more wire going round more wick (or whatever).
btw more vapour = more spend on juice.
