Hi Lynn562, hope she feels better soon!
Have you thought about this brand:
they are running a no smoking day deal so you get a battery and 12 refills for a reasonable price? At least this way if she's not keen on it you haven't spend loads of money on it? They sell a mains adaptor separately, but as others have said you can get cheap mains adaptors from other places.

Hi all and thanks for all comments No progress so far. We had a big family Wedding and yes, mum sneaked off for a few. Can't believe she got away with it and my brother still doesn't know. My daughter has bought me an E-cig. Not tried that one, but I bought a packet of Eshish ones, no nicotine, got a mixed pack, grape, apple etc. My plan is to smoke them at work, or at least to try smoking them instead of the odd 'real' cigarette. My excuse at the moment for not getting stuck in now, is my daughter came back to UK from OZ for the Wedding and we had to say our Goodbyes today, so I am not feeling that great at the moment Take Care all x

Hi Lynn. I'm on green smoke ATM. They are one of the beat selling in the US for e cigs that look like the real thing. I'm a heavy smoker so for me they are not great. I'm moving to non cig type looking things. But if I smoked maybe 10 cigs a day normally these would be great. The cartonizers are expensive at around 1.99 each. But they are quality. The flavours are good especially menthol vanilla and mocha. I'm going through about 2 carts as a once 40 a day smoker. 4.00 for me a day is still far too much. But if I was a light smoker I would stick with this. The hit is very good for a look a like cigarette type device. It's a very simple straight forward device. No leaking onto lips either with the carts. They stand by guarantees. Batteries are guaranteed for a year. Not many companies do that.

Forgot to add, my night time wheeze noise has gone. A 35 year old should not be kept awake by the noise your chest makes breathing. It's great. No looking back for me to regular cigs.

(((Lynn))) you must be feeling sad having to say your goodbyes Which e-cig did your daughter buy you? Oscar, Green smokes are very expensive & you can buy far cheaper ciggie look alikes that work as well as they do.

Looks just the ticket with cartos and clearomisers. There should be instructions for filling with eliquid but if not there are tutorials here in the tips and tricks section. Good luck

Hi Lynn and welcome from a fellow newbie
I don't know enough to give you advice but there are loads of lovely people on here with a wealth of knowledge.
It must be really hard for someone who has smoked for decades to give up, good luck to you and your mum x

I have been a smoker for 45 years and never thought i could give it up. I tried e lites, vaporizer and sky gigs before xmas but they never satified me. All the others seemed complicated and then i found the ego c tornado slim in 4 colours, very ladylike lol. I have never looked back since and have been a non smoker since Jan 1st. I suggest you look into them. If it can work for me (a hopless case) then i am sure your mum would like it.

Hi Lynn, and welcome to the forum! You have already received some great advice here, and although I have a cig-a-like for emergencies, I have never used one 'in anger'. I started using an eGo battery with a clearo on top, but I appreciate that you want something as easy and hassle-free as possible. The suggestion of a couple of eGo batteries, with refillable cartos which you can either buy pre-filled, or aim to refill the cartos when they run out, might be the easiest option. There are some great eGo batteries on the market with funky colours and even etched patterns which are a bit more feminine, and they are not honestly much bigger that a standard cigarette. I'm sure there will be more responses to your request in time, but if you have any questions, please ask away - we're here to help! Andy
