I am currently watching Saturday Kitchen Live. There is a female Australian Chef cooking something which just doesn't seem right somehow anymore as I'm so used to seeing just men doing the cooking all the time on TV.
It seems to be a mans world now which has always been the case in my house because my wife can't cook to save her life lol. I actually really enjoy cooking, it pains me when I haven't planned something for dinner and end up using something out of a packet or something frozen like Birds Eye stuff etc.
Who does the majority of cooking in your household?

Just some thoughts: I reckon there are two entirely different things here - domestic cooking and professional cooking.
Cooking on TV used to be primarily about domestic instruction. Hence the appearance of more female cooks, as they were (and often still are) the gender expected to deal with the task of cooking in a domestic context.
Nowadays, TV cooking is primarily about giving an insight into the skills and techniques of professional chefs. Hence the appearance of more male cooks, as they are the gender who remain (despite some improvements in the situation over recent years) more likely to receive respect and be rewarded with success in a work environment.

Back to the question, i am the worker, cook, cleaner, fixer, she just watches Pretty similar in my house. She just does the ironing and I do eeeeeeeeeverything else, car cleaning, house maintainence, gardening, majority of the cleaning, some washing, all the cooking, making daughters packup, feeding all our pets, food shopping, paying bills, sorting out car insurance on 2 cars every year and anything else I've missed out. I have no idea what she is here for
