It's all down to personal preference, PG generally gives off more throat hit where as VG tend to produce more vapour. I personally like a 70/30PG mix but that is just me. Have a play around and see what suits you best.

I use a 50/50 mix of PG/VG, as I feel you get the best of both worlds

VG is also much thicker than PG.

When buying E liquids, what is the difference between PG and VG? Hope this isn't to stupid a question... On this forum, there is no such thing as a stupid question. Oh and if you don't believe me, just look at some of the questions I've asked!!!! You are probably best buying a couple of small samples of the same e-juice, say one in 70pg/30vg and one in 50/50 mix and see which one suits you best. Then whichever one is best for you, order all your e-juices in that mix. I have been 50/50 for about 6 months now, but I am slowly drifting over to 70/30 because the vapour sensation is not as important to me these days.

I started with 50/50 needing the big throat hit to stay off the ciggies but now much prefer 70/30and find it smoother

I would recommend 50/50 to any new vaper, personally. You're getting the best of both.
It's all I use now, but with that said it is still very subjective.

Hudson - I use 75/25 PG/VG in my own mixes, and this give an acceptable amount of vapour whist retaining a good flavour too. VG juices tend to get used up more quickly, and can cause wicking problems in some clearos, but most juices you buy pre-mixed have some PG in them (flavourings, even commercial ones, are based on PG), so this is not usually a problem. Some mixers use a diluent (deionised water or vodka!) to make the VG a bit less viscous. As suggested above, might be an idea to get a small bottle of VC in 50/50 and 75/25 so you can see what the difference is. Hope this helps - oh, and the most stupid question is the one you are afraid to ask - thought I would say it before someone else does, it's a bit of a mantra here! Got some AVC (Andy's Vanilla Custard) on the steep, will do a little sample bottle for you next time I know I'll see you! Andy
