MM i really hope you find a way to continue using "chalk pastels" That picture is so alive , its fantastic , as nice as the ink & watercolour ones are , they dont come close to the atmosphere and feeling that you seem to have conjured with the "chalk pastels" , its quite an exceptional picture , hope i havent offended you

Along with a mask ya gotta cover your clothes too...I know the chalk gets everywhere !! Then change off your cover when done. And maybe plen aire (sp)...outside.
LOL I had a very expensive Brother electronic knitting machine ! Had the ribber attachment and the "automatic" thing that you could program and leave.
Spent about $4,000.00 USD on it in 1985.
Couldn't use it very much...seems in California when the Santa Ana winds kick up it magnetizes things....and the hooks wouldn't open !
Dang mess !!!

I agree with the others, it would be such a shame MM if you got rid of them We really do have 2 very talented artists with MM & Lee

They're marvellous MM. I envy your talent.
Why don't you borrow Dee's scuba helmet and tank of air when you need to use the pastel chalks;)

Trust her to come up with a 'clutzy' idea! MM - I adore the flowers one, but all are superb. I treasure the little miniature - very special. Now if anyone would like a pencil drawing of Fred Flintstone ......... I'm ace

I used to do the same Scyll when I was a child - draw my own hands and feet. Scraggy ole things they were, still are !! Also drew with my toes!! Made myself use my left hand as well, even though I'm right handed. MM Meant to say, I have made a note of the BBC 4 programme. I used to love Watercolour Challenge and knew a few of the artists.

Wow...MM, you have a gift you must continue to use, especially when it also gives you pleasure to do... couldn't you change to paint instead, when the dust from chalks upsets you? they are so beautiful...i'm in complete awe of people who have talents like yours...

Thank you Lilac. I really haven't been able to use the pastels for a long while now, so I do use all the other media. In fact, haven't painted at all for a year now - still waiting to move!! MM
