Hi everyone, I'm Paul from Glasgow.
I've recently statred vaping and am currently using vapourlites, unfortunately whilst I like them I find the battery life to be very poor; although I wouldn't fault their customer service as they've sent me replacement batteries and other parts with no hesitation.
Anyway I've decided to upgrade and having read the various posts on this wonderful forum have come down to 2 possibilities: the evod 650 or the riva 1100; I'm tending towards the riva the only problem being that vapeescape are waiting for stock.
I'd be grateful for any thoughts or suggestions as to my choice or indeed any suggestions for alternatives.
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul, and welcome to the forum! As you have obviously done your research, all I will say is that the Riva seems to be the 'kit du jour' here at the moment. I don't know how long Jason at Vape Escape has to wait before his next stock arrives, but I do know that all vendors are suffering the knock-on from the Chinese New Year celebrations where all factories and business shut down for a couple of weeks. The other option would be to have a look for eGo kits - these have similar batteries and clearomisers (clearos) and are another good way into vaping; I know, it's how I got started! I'm sure there will be others along in a minute who will be able to provide you with links, and possibly information on the wait time for VE. I'm on my phone and links are tricky to say the least. Best of luck - give it an hour and you'll have the information you need! Andy

Hi, Paul, from the other end of the M8 As you've already figured out, the Riva kit is probably the best place to start. I don't know of any alternatives that I could recommend, but I'm sure you will get some suggestions soon.

Ah Paul, don't the nicest people all come from Glasgow!!!!!!
But, as you will find on here, there are some lovely people around that, unfortunately for them, were not born in Glasgow, but we'll no haud that against them.
Welcome to the Forum. You will get loads of good advice on here and we are all here to learn from each other.

Hi Paul I recently started vaping too, and I've got the eGo Twist starter kit (2 x 900 batteries, 2 x T3 clearos, USB and mains chargers, 5 x 5ml juice samples) from E-smoke Ireland - which has been working brilliantly for me since it arrived last Tuesday. I alternate between the two batteries/clearos, having a different juice in each, and simply charge the batteries up every morning, one at a time - they've not run out on me yet. I may well get a Riva too, once they're back in stock, just to see what the difference is, and because you can't have too many shinies You're going to love vaping, I promise you!

Ginger, as you're happy with your kit you only really need something for back up. The kit I linked to above would be perfect for that purpose and gives you a spare charger too

Hello & Paul. Looks like you've been sorted & if you do go for the Riva, I think you'll be very happy.

Thanks Paul Ive not been vaping so long, 5 or 6 weeks and soon realised the extra or upgrade battery route was leading to vv devices. I would not advise to by a kit to anyone that has tried vaping and feels its for them. I would say get a vv and build off that, the same site sells the ego twist www.vapeescape.co.uk/joyetech-ego-c-twist-vv~367 Clearomisers, tanks etc are semi disposable items and you will end up buying a few and tossing the odd one out every other week, power delivery is worth spending a little extra on. oxo

Hi Paul.
I am keen on getting an EVOD soon, but as much as I love the look of it etc. I can't help feeling that 650mah batteries are not the best of choice if that's going to be your main kit.
Clearly, for some people, having 2 batteries of any size will work out, as they (me) are in near reach of a charger when battery no.1 winks and says "feed me please....".
Ignoring my ego-T tube mod (2000mah) which lasts days and days, and my Lavatube, which is just for fun at home, I get by mainly on a riva and a spinner...they are my two batteries day in, day out. One is 1100, the other 1300.
I don't think in all seriousness I'd get on so well if those two were running down as quickly as a 650mah can.
I'm sure they'll be comments from 650mah owners soon enough to say how often they charge and if it's ever an issue.
