To alert a member if you want them to take notice of the post ie to thank someone or if you know they're looking to buy something in particular and you see it on the classifieds etc

GreigsterJust tried my own name by pre-fixing it with @ and all it did was to put my name in a post and make it clickable???? In what circumstances would that be of any help, sorry, I still don't understand
