Do you think it would be a good idea to use it on new Tanks, Clearos, Wicks...etc etc
To get rid of any smells and oils that have been left behind from manufacturing.
I wonder if it would get rid of that wick taste i get from new tanks, got some wick on it's way to me, think im gonna soak it in it overnight.
Does anyone else do this?

I know @marks uses it with good success cleaning his clearos romelee so guessing it is the same for new clearos. I have seen people saying to soak vision nano in voddy to get rid of the plastic taste.

As far as I and scientists know Romelee it should be fine.
The only other place I have seen people using iso to clean clearo's and such is on ECF.
A good few do not want to use it as they fear it may leave toxins, and if used incorrectly it may do so. i.e. if you use anything less than 99.9% iso, or you do not allow enough time for it to completely evaporate.
Again I guess it's another case of better safe than sorry, but if used safely it is not a problem.
99.9% iso leaves behind no residue whatsoever and that is not from any vaping forums. That's science. Anything less than 99.9% can be mixed with all sorts such as oils etc and I would not recommend using it all.
Some rinse out their clearo's, carto's etc with water afterwards, but to me that defeats the object as water does leave a residue behind.
I'm over 2 weeks in now of using carto's and clearo's cleaned with 99.9% isopropyl with no ill effects. I also use it to clean my battery connections.
I've had people react as if I was using arsenic to clean my clearo'when I've mentioned iso, but in all fairness they don't know what they are on about and can provide no evidence that it is bad other than if used incorrectly (see above).
As I said before, be safe and you'll be fine. Any doubts don't do it.
Simples.
To add always give anything you clean with iso a few dry blasts using the same method you would if cleaning with water, before filling.
For anyone else reading this:
ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA AND AWAY FROM HIGH HEAT SOURCES AND NAKED FLAMES.

I aint worried about the safe side of using it anymore but nice info you have put there mark , in fact i love the stuff, especially the smell What i was wondering if that stuff does a better job than say water...i.e getting rid of oil and nasty residue water cannot remove from tanks/wicks when purchased new

Nooo don't sniff it lol I know what you mean though you immediately get a whiff of it when opening a bottle. It isn't actually as toxic as some would lead you to believe though, but as I say safety first. I would say yes as it is also a solvent. From Wiki:

Vinegar is good for tanks, but it stinks. Where as Isopropyl just evaporates. I'd still dilute it a bit for Polycarbonate tanks.

IPAlcohol is fine if as already mentioned it is 99.9% IPAlcohol. It is still classified as pure when 95% IPAlcohol. Pure IPAlcohol means diddly. Be very careful to check the purity! The extra 5% could be slow drying and very very toxic.
