Hi all,
Been on the E-cigs for 3 weeks now, not had a normal tab at all. Sold all my duty frees, and invested in a 510 starter kit. It's been ok most of the time, but i do have one concern maybe someone has had the same and can advise. At least 3 times every evening when i'm using the E-cigs (don't smoke at work during the day), my E-cig gets incredibly hot. I'm not sure how this happens, or what causes it. Could it be a faulty battery? - It happens with all of my atomisers (3) Or is this normal? It gets that hot i have to take it aprt and wait a few minutes for it to cool down. I lerft it on the settee the other night, and the smell it gave off saved me from a burnt settee/fire! I'm using E liquid, topping up the carts with a couple of drops every 10-15 tokes. any ideas?

Hello Bucko, welcome and thanks so much for joining us It sounds like a faulty atomiser, to me. That's if you're using the same atty with each of your batteries. However, if it's just happening with one battery, then that could be faulty. I reckon you should get back to your supplier, they're mostly very good about faulty gear. Who was your supplier? We may know them scylla

Welcome to our forum Buckowski As it's activating on it's own ie without you dragging on it, it sounds like a faulty switch in the battery that is sticking in the on position. I know there have also been reports of some e-cig batteries beign activated by sound but I can't remember which model - I don't think it's the 510 though.

simon replaced one of my batteries, but the new turns itself on if you move it sometimes, yesterday i blew reasonably gently into it and at the moment it seems ok. my attie, and i suppose everyone else get hot ish when over drawing, what i do (probably not hygienic) is roll it across my tongue,it cools more or less straight away. ragjoy...............

Seeing as it happens with all of my atomisers, its possibly the battery that is dodgy. I got the first kit from juicy cigs. I sent them an email last week, and they've not replied. I've just got another kit from The Vapor station, so i'll use the same batch of atomisers and see if they overheat in the new batteries. By the way, the Vapor Station is by far the cheapest starter kits i've found www.vaporstation.co.uk/index.phpThe customer service so far has been good, prompt replies, hopefully they'll be ok if i run into further problems. Thx for the replies.

I got the first kit from juicy cigs. I sent them an email last week, and they've not replied. Hmmm. I bought juice from JuicyCigs and was not impressed. Chase them, Bucko! Grrr. Gosh, 6-month warranty They're a new one on me. I do think it would have been more appropriate for them to link a recognised charity for the Haiti donations, rather than "promise" to pass on donations themselves. That's not to say that they're misappropriating! Despite having duff gear you're doing so well, Bucko, and you seem to be able to look after yourself, you must have an independent streak, finding your own suppliers scylla

Hello Buck..... I've got the 510 & 901. I saw a demo by the very knowledgeable, brill guy (the one that does loads of them) on the 510 & HE said that they DO get hot - so maybe it's normal for that model? I know very little but he is an expert Think it's on Utube ???

Well i've been on the new battery from the vaporstation with the juicycig atties for the past 2 hours and no sign of overheating...so i've sent juicycigs another email, asking could i return their faulty battery for a replacement...
one thing i do find about Ecigs...when they work bad..like overheating and sometimes poor draw and throat hit
but when they work good, they're amazing, much nice than normal smokes, which is what keeps me going.
i do feel they're a bit unpredictable to be used in the mainstream for most smokers. too many things can go wrong and its easy to knock them. hopefully the day isn't too far away when they iron the problems out and make them longer lasting and reliable, as the concept is great.

Buck, to me your last post confirms that it was the battery. I hope you get somewhere with juicycigs - never used them myself & unless they go9 out of their way to help you, I won't be adding them to our supplier list.
Yes e-cigs can be a tad unpredictable. However, they are being improved & if you start looking at the mods, you can get round some of the problems & any ban (if it happens) on the hardware side.

Juicy cigs replied, they're going to send me a replacement battery when their stock returns. nice.
I'll be a bit gutted if it does become banned like, i really don't want to go back on the normal smokes.

We're all very worried, Buck (and so angry!) - I for one was smoking for 50 years, e-cigs have been a miracle. But we'll find a way scylla

Just an update, Juicycigs sent me a replacement battery which is working great, they didn't even require me to send the broken battery back to them, thats trust for ya! so a big recommendation from me
Exactly 4 weeks today free of cigarettes, it really has been easy to give up.
i think the only way i'd have a real cig now is if i was out on the beer and all my E-Cig gear broke down on me - would be unlikely though, as i take 3 of everything out with me, and am waiting on a backorder from Vapor station for a PCC, which should make it even easier.
