Hello and slimpickins, because a lot of these batteries are mass produced and the circuitry is circa 1980's they dont work all the time or work different at times, try clicking the button 6 times within 2 seconds, also these batteries auto power on when charging also dont take the instruction manuals as gospel as the far eastern manuals are very rarely proof read and sometimes they change mid production (EG may be 3 clicks not 5) without mentioning to the vendor but still has the original version of the manual. Not trying to confuse you.

Hi..when my battery flashes three time it means I have either a turned it on ...or if it was on prior to the 5 rapid clicks then I have turned it off ....I suspect you know that these type of batteries are manual not automatic ...and you have to hold the button in in order to vape ..as for the vv part I have no idea if it has to be set at a particular level to activate ..if this is too basic and not what you're after ..I'm just a beginner myself

Hi there, the kit you have does not have the 5 click on/off feature. You click the button 5 times to switch between different power modes!

Karma is right
How to use the Ego Variable Voltage E-Cig Battery The battery comes with the default mode of 3.2v Press the switch button for 5 quick clicks, the LED ring will turn from Red to half red/half Blue & the voltage will change to 3.2v to 3.7v Press the button for another 5 clicks, the LED ring to blue & the voltage will change from 3,7v to 4.2v. Give another 5 quick clicks, the LED will turn from blue to red and the volts will go back to 3.2v
unfortunately there is no mention of how to turn on/off

unfortunately there is no mention of how to turn on/off you can't turn it off! You can buy protector thingies to cover the switch to prevent accidental activation or take the cart/clearo off the battery before storing or transporting.

Dangerous really, (needs a warning or something on the vendor's site) does it have auto shut off after 10 or 15 secs "customers need to know this Surely" because these kits are aimed at first time buyers

Wow, I didn't so many helpful replies so quickly! Thanks especially to Karma and Gillies, I've now plugged it in and the little LCD panel is indicating that it's charging and the ring below the button is totally blue (unlike me, I'm much happier now).
I'll post again and let you all know how I get on.
Once again, thanks for the welcome and the help.

Not all batteries or mods have an on/off function!

Not all batteries or mods have an on/off function! They are aimed initially for new customers just like the person who created the thread, anything electrical needs basic safety instruction, similar to what i mentioned previously, just my opinion
