There's 2 reasons why I dislike that word. One being that it does seem to be a derogatory term for smoking cigarettes, something we all used to do. We ourselves really aren't that much better are we? We've only substituted one addiction for another, it doesn't mark as being more superior. And in order to campaign our way of feeding that addiction, I don't see it as helping out cause if we alienate that section of society. Also, secondly, I think it sounds childish if im being brutally honest, we're all adults, yet use that daft word. That is of course just my opinion but I'd personally rather use the word "cig" for stinky, plus its less letters to type As I said earlier, it is a derogatory term for ciggies which for me re-enforces the whole negative attitude I have towards them. I disagree about us being "not much better", I think we are all much better for making that decision to swap one addiction for another much "safer addiction". I don't ever feel superior to people who smoke ordinary cigs. I am also a caffeine addict, I think, or is it because I just like coffee, I am never quite sure. I dont like green tea or "Gnats Pee" as I like to call it, but I have no problem with others that do enjoy it. Smokers have been alienated for a long time now but that was more to do with government policy and the peripheral damage caused to others by passive smoking. Some of us are childish, its fun. So you carry on calling it a cig and I will carry on calling it a stinkie.....no harm done And now I must rest my my fingers from this keyboard.......its time for my espresso and a vape on PVC. Cheers

Stinkies well didnt we all use that term as well, when you picked up your new born,son/daughter, grandchild " you done a stinkie" even though you smiled when really you was grimacing gasping for air, now i do find the term UK Gov and EU and tax offensive but like that i have to live with it,will agree you do stand next to a heavy smoker, not smoking and they do reek !! i since apologised to my family i love the word "stinkies" mainly cos its does relate to what they did basically make- you stink, house stink ,car stink

saying "stinkies" does offend some smokers, and we have people here who have cut down by using e cigs but not quit entirely yet. I don't mind offending people if there is something to be gained by it, but in this case I don't think there is much, so best avoid it.

Many years ago, when I was a younger man I managed 3 months without a cigarette. I started going out with a girl who smoked, Lord did her breath taste good.
"Stinkies" entering my vocabulary was one of the good things when I started vaping. Nothing wrong with feeling smug and superior, if there was why would it feel good. Vaping is like we've beaten the tobacco companies at their own game.

Even worse is the cannabis smell, I'm like a bloodhound now and though I've never liked the smell, now it puts me in 'kill' mode Sorry to disappoint you Deesigner, But there are now Vapourisers out for vaping on Cannabis (and tobacco) so there is no smell, but the effect is the same. I have one and was using it in the house for tobacco before I found e-cigs and e-juice. I still have it and it will be my back up device should there be an outright ban on e-cigs. The one I have is called the Iolite and its power source is Lighter Gas. I would imagine that by now, most dedicated cannabis users are using such a device and only occasional users are still smoking the stuff. On another point, if any laws are ever passed by the UK Government in regard to e-cigs, those that are upset about the ciggy users congregating outside pub doorways, will probably find themselves joining them if they want to vape on a night out. I say this because if future e-cig regulations are passed by Brussels, European Governments will take that as the Green Light to introduce all sorts of Draconian Measures against the use of E-cigs.

Fags is what they were to me, and fags they remain. Don't like the words cig, ciggie, cigarette, smokes, tabs, stinkies or analogues, but especially the last two. There's probably a few other terms for fags I don't like, but you probably get the idea by now.
