I recently went to the Doc about a lengthy chest infection i had over the Xmas period. He decide to send me for an Xray, as a precaution, and the result was that my lungs were in pretty good nick, considering i had been smoking for nigh on 40 years, except...that i have a small calcium lump on one of them. Now, as the Doc told me, it is not in any way cancerous and may have been there for years, it still may be the cause of recent breathing/wheezing problems i have been having, so is referring me to the clinic to find out a possible cause.
I've been thinking.....could a reaction from the e-liquid have triggered this somehow, as it all started around the same time as i started using them ? Guess i'll have to wait for the appointment and see, but in the mean time, i think i'll try VG or maybe go back on analogs for a week, and see if anything changes.

I can't see how going back to cigarettes is a good move myself, but your choice Marty, personally I'd wait until you have the results from your tests as it could be coincidence. Smoking tobacco masks a whole host of other complaints/conditions that may have been there for some time, stop the habit and the conditions surface. Good luck with your results.

I'll try the 100% VG route first. Got some on order. I've read in some cases, PG can cause reactions like wheezing and shortness of breath.

Went to vg only and it made me a bit phlegmy ( sorry for what that may conjure up ) Switched to 50/50 end of problem. It would be a shame to go back to the ciggies now you've done so well

I had a sudden bad chest infection at Xmas. Got ABX. Left me with a really bad wheeze and after a few weeks, thought it may be PG doing it. So went to as much VG as possible in my home made juices - a touch better, but still very noisy breathing and short of breath. So noisy it kept me awake at night and EVERYONE was commenting on it!
Went to Doc who had a listen - more ABX and an inhaler. Was fully prepared to get bad news after many years of smoking.....and was told no, they didn't think so. Peak flow thingy was ok, it seemed, or at least, not too bad.
Now all gone and don't use inhaler (did so for about 2 weeks, gradually reducing use). So it took from late December to start of March to fully clear. I have stayed on high VG mixes - prob around 80/20 final mix.
Seems to have been some bad bugs this winter as a couple of non - whiffling people I know have had similar stories.

Update : Been using an inhaler these past weeks(and 50/50 mix), and everything seemed fine, until yesterday. Rushed to Hospital with a sudden case of...not being able to breathe. Was what i can only describe as a severe Asthma attack (which i don't suffer from) and i tell ya, NEVER want to suffer from. Lungs x-ray'd again and found to be clear, so asked the Doc on call, why did he thinks this was happening and explained to him about the vaping. In his opinion, the vaping has nothing to do with it, and that it's more likely to be caused by the lungs being more susceptible to infection/virus' as it cleans the shit (not his word) from my 40 year smoking habit. Have an appointment at the clinic in a few weeks for a more in depth examination.....Gawd, i hate treadmills

Good luck with hospital tests, will ask and i know this may sound very strange, have you changed a deodrant? ok reason for this lol years ago whilst on hols , no health problems etc going out one night thought hmm but of smelly stuff[ use deodrants very rarely still have some from a year ago untouched] anyway met up with friends and wham shortness of breath couldnt breath struggled on through the night felt like crap, shrugged it off,but was pretty stupid, got back went to sleep told missus what happened but felt fine nxt day went to docs turned out i either had a reaction to the smelly or the aftersun lotion and basically had a asthma attack
Sometimes even now if kids or partner use a smelly i start getting short of breath depending on which, also suffer if theres lillys in the house!!!
will add this for some reason if i really go for it vaping VC i get like it so switch to other flavours

Andy, you may have a point. Not so much the deodrant, but i've been using those plug in fragrances recently and also changed the cat litter to the sort of clay stuff, which gives off a lot of dust. Think i'll have to do an elimination process of all recent changes to my home environment.
