I haven't put this in the 'members' area as it's not that serious (I could be wrong), but is the weather we are experiencing lately getting you down? It certainly is me. I'm very close to several trees, and the wind is howling, I can hear twigs hitting the house, and tonight and tomorrow we can look forward to another blast of snow!
Over the years I've been on this earth we've had the odd 'unusual' weather occurrence, but the last few years it's becoming the norm. At this time of year, coming up to Easter (haven't heard a mower yet), you could normally look forward to warmer, brighter weather to cheer the spirits, but now it seems we're condemned to a year of 'holding your breath' to see what Mother Nature is going to hit us with next, whatever we've come to expect from the season.
Is it just me and the rest of you are just getting on with your lives regardless?

It's not just you Raffles. I hate it too. I'm a sun lover, the winter depresses me terribly and this one seems never-ending.

Same here as well. It's been awful here in Cornwall today - gale force winds & torrential rain I'm also a sun lover - seen so little of it the last couple of years

The cold weather doesnt really get me down, but thats probably because I experienced the polar opposite living in Australia for a few years. Believe me, living in stifling heat month after month year after year is just as hard.
On another note. I was listening to LBC radio in the car yesterday and they ssaid on there that on that same day last year it was 23 degrees!! I looked at the temp gauge in the car it said 3!

For me it's not the cold Dolly, it's the grey. I can really enjoy a cold, bright day but hate the greyness

Worst March for 30 years apparently, it sending the GYO community into a bit of a spin. Nature usually catches up though.

I'm fed up with the 'winter' - we live in a house with no central heating (gas fire and 'real' turf fires only) and I am sick to death of feeling cold. I seem to have spent the past 6 months (so it feels) huddled here by the fire, wrapped in layer after layer. I have veggie seeds I want to plant, but can't because there's going to be another frost this weekend (and I'm away for a couple of weeks from tomorrow, so it'll be April before I get to plant anything). The dogs are permanently encrusted with mud, which they gleefully smear all over the house, and I am getting tired of getting soaked every time I go out with them. Anyway, am off to my Dad's tomorrow so have the luxury of central heating for a little while - and hopefully won't see snow 'cos he's in Brighton and it looks like it''ll miss it. It better do, else no doubt the trains to London'll be mucked up, and I need them on Saturday to get to the meet!

You're not alone, Raffles, it is so depressing & the cold & damp does bones no good at all. And having two like this.... coming in from the garden that is doing a good impression of a muddy swamp doesn't lighten the heart any either!!!

I have a couple of pics on my iPad, but for some reason I can only send them to facebook twitter or peoples email addresses. I can't paste it onto here directly. Photobucket isn't working for me either.. I have them stored on dropbox. I will give it a go again and see.
