Hi, Well after being a 20 a day smoker for 20+ years I've decided enough is enough and I need to do something. I know I won't be able to go cold turkey so I'm interesting in trying e-cigs as a starter (basically I know I'm not ready to stop completely). The more I've read this afternoon the more confused I've got over what I need to buy and from where from so I'm looking for some Janet & John style advice to start me on my way. I'm not interested in making sure it looks like a real cig, I just want to make sure I get the right thing for me and I can give up the real things! Thanks in advance

May I recommend one of the many ego kits. Various types out there. I started with an ego-c kit. Little 1 ml cartridges that can be refilled and poked in the top. Was ok for a while then moved onto clearo misers (tanks pretty much) I would recommend one of these straight away and would probably suggest an evod set up. See below www.vapeescape.co.uk/evod%2D650%2Dstarter%2Dkit%7E5042 batteries and clearo misers. Easy to maintain. You can pick up the replaceable coils (the bit that makes the vapor) for pittance. I know it sounds silly, but definitely dot forget to get some juice. A lot of people get some tobacco flavoured juice. I decided to get away from the tobacco taste and go for fruit/drink flavours. Kind of stops me from thinking about the stinkies as it tastes better and as my other half would agree with smells better too. I hope this helps and this forum is full of very friendly helpful people. Well done for deciding to make the switch.

+1 for grizwalds. Very yummy. Only one that I tried and wasn't keen on was eastern spice. Arctic lemon though was wonderful, still got some left for a relaxing vape.

Hi Tinkerbell,
I've just started, and I really recommend the Riva kit - mine arrived yesterday - really easy to use. Not wanted a stinkie since I started. I would, myself, suggest getting a different clearo or 2. The Vision Ego v2 is SO much better than the clearo in the kit. I also got a Kanger EVOD (which I've read is better again) but thats waiting for my Cherry Pie to arrive.
All the flavours are so much nicer than the DRUM i used to smoke for more years than I will admit to!!
Good luck on your journey - any probs, and the kind folks on here will help you out like they have me

Hi Tinkerbell, and welcome to the forum! +1 for the Riva from Vape Escape, loads of people have got one recently and all are really chuffed with it. Buy juice in small sample bottles first until you've decided which ones float your boat - there are hundreds to choose from, have a look through the Vendors section of this forum to get a list of vendors who have kindly offered forum members a discount code, usually up to 10% off each purchase. Enjoy, and let us know how you get on! Andy

Do this /\ /\ /\ Seriously, welcome tinkerbell! e-cigs are confusing (and that's an understatement once you start reading on here... The way I see it; the sort of "kit" used on here (including the posh and clever stuff as well) is basically 1. a battery (preferably 2) 2. some sort of atomiser (to make the vapour) which can be on it's own or built into a container for the liquid (clearomiser in my case) 3. some e-liquid. A kit (either RIVA or EVOD) will have all you need, although some kits do not have juice, it's true.
